Fascinates me? Would think he is a solid fourth liner who can score if given minutes, certainly better than alot of other grinders out there.

The off-ice stuff must really put people off?

While I love Avery, nobody wants the side show that is Sean Avery. Plus as we see game in and game out when he's playing, the refs watch extra closely and he gets called for everything.

The reputation he's put out there really does him a disservice... and it stinks because he CAN play.

Cap hit, personality and reputation, etc.

Avery can be unpredictable so there's no knowing if a team will be getting the well-behaved Sean or the "bad" Sean. It's not worth the risk for most teams, especially at his cap hit.

We're not going through this again.

If anyone wants to read everyone's thoughts on the subject, here ya go: http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=1066485

If you want to talk about Sean Avery playing hockey, use the Whale thread.
