(on how the Kings can improve the power play…) I don’t know. I wish I knew right now. We’ve got to keep working on it and keep practicing on it. We’re going to break through. That’s our mindset right now, and we’ve got to keep on pushing for that. (on strong puck possession…) We’ve done that, for the most part, since Darryl got here, because he really encourages that. holding onto pucks and everything. We had a few good shifts. We had some scoring chances. We just couldn’t bury them. We had a bunch of 2-on-1s. I had a chance in overtime and I don’t know why I didn’t shoot it, but I should have put it on net, and something could happen on that. The chances are there. We just have to bear down on them. (on Varlamov’s strong game…) Yeah. Even the power-play save he made on Jack (Johnson) there. I want to say, 70 percent of the time, that’s a tap-in goal. Again, we’ve got to keep on working on it and get better at it."

They move the space, they work well together and they understand the offensive zone and where we should always have a guy. I’m not surprised they connected for a nice goal. (on the upcoming games…) We’ve got a lot of conference games here coming up. If we want to climb the standings, which we do, then we’ve got to get these points all the way up to the All-Star break. I don’t remember how many conference games it is, but it’s a heavy, heavy amount. If we want to climb the standings and set ourselves up well after the All-Star break, then we’ve got to pile up some wins."

Quite honestly, the second period, we stopped shooting. We played our game. We just stopped shooting the puck in the second. We played hard. That’s a pretty simple way of putting it. (on whether the Kings deserved a better fate…) I don’t know. When you get the opportunities, we start trying to make that little play across the net and those sort of things, in the second period, instead of putting it to the net and getting to the net. I like the percentages better when the goalie has to make the save. I don’t even know how I’d say it. We deserved a point. (on the no-goal call in the first period…) I disagree with the way we handle that. I think every puck that goes in the net, unless the whistle went, should be called a goal, and because of what we have in Toronto, then they should rule from there. You look at what we talk about, with goal scoring and offense in the league, that’s what I believe. Every puck that goes in the net, unless there’s a whistle or the act of blowing a whistle, should be a goal, and then they can rule it that way. To me, it makes more sense that way. Hey, we can critique it and look at the replay and say, `It’s a goal,’ but it shouldn’t be left to (being) inconclusive, and then the call on the ice stands. It should be the other way. That’s how I see it. (on the Kings not losing in regulation under him…) We’re just trying to battle and get everybody to play hard. Even on the tying goal they scored, Cliffy makes a mistake along the wall. It’s one of those things where you’re just trying to get him to do it right, over and over and over. You just learn from it. I don’t look three or four games back or anything like that, or ahead. I just keep it real even in there."

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -
NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

LMAO - has anyone here ever proclaimed a game "relatively meaningless" or "not too important in the grand scheme" beforehand?
I think we get a "big game" before every single game of the season.

Preseason games are semi-big games. They are like having a chubby. You aren't all the way there, just kinda starting to get there.

I don't care about giving a point to the Jets, but I do against the Coyotes. Divisional opponents are obviously more important, not that any night's 2 points aren't important, stopping the other team becomes most important when facing divisional opponents.

I am going to replace Shane Doans' stick with an Acme stick.
I am then going to secretly replace Dave Tippett's coffee with Folger's crystals.

The Kings almost never get hat tricks during any season, let alone one annually.

Actually, there's been two per season since 2007. I would love to see one this season, especially with our offensive woes.
