The past couple of games Phaneuf has taken his fair share of punches to the face from Downie and Ladd. I'm sure this puck is nothing and he'll be back next game with a cage only cause the doctors tell him he has to.

I'd be surprised if he didn't have a busted jaw.

The world is in sad disrepair when a player takes a puck to the jaw and people start screaming concussion.

Anyways, he'll be fine, have you seen the jaw on that guy? He could take a bowling ball at 100MPH and walk away.

Well seeing as you can get a concussion from being punched in the jaw, I think a puck travelling at 100MPH could do the trick..

Man, did anyone catch him spitting out a mouthful of blood when he skated towards the bench? Hope he's alright.

My point was in todays NHL a stray butterfly on the ice is likely to cause concussion talk league wide.

I stand corrected. Hopefully its not a concussion, he got off on his own power and didnt look too sluggish, we need him back there especially without Liles.

I laughed the other night when commentators were trying to diagnose guys with concussions from where they were sitting.

It's the new skate in the crease. Gotta love NHL trends.

I hope it's more of a 7-10 days out kinda thing with him wearing a cage, instead of a 4-6 weeks. I think all the blood was probably just form losing a tooth. Also he took it off the jaw. Hoping because of that he isn't concussed. I'm not doctor but get well soon Dion!

7-10? Do you think he got shot with a rifle? Guys finish games after taking pucks to the face.

Holy hyper sensitive fans!!!

We don't know how bad the damage is, or ever what it is. I'm being cautiously optimistic, but without information I'm making a guess.

Also "Hyper sensitive" that's funny. Coming from the guy who used 3 exclamation marks.

Ya, I guess we should just write him off for 10 games rather then wait for the results of the xray.

I forgot the Batman at the end of the sentence as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope he is out for 4-6 weeks and not forced to retire, we really need him for playoffs [/cautiously optimistic]

I'm not really sure of what you are trying to accomplish here?
