Anyone else find that Greening, when he shots, its usually from just inside the line and well before anyone has had a chance to close on the net for rebounds. Goalie sees it all the way in.

I like Greening, but I've really noticed this as a weakness in his confidence. I'd like to see him cut to the centre and drive the net once in a while.

Anderson played great, but not good enough kidding.

Was kinda harsh on Andy but he played lights out tonight. Lets hope he can keep this level or close to this level of play up!

Had to chose Smith as one of the 3 stars. I swear, he was always around the net, and had many quality scoring chances. THAT SHOT!

Also, accidentally clicked Spezza(who was also good) instead of Alfie.

No disrespect against Turris, but I really feel like Smith can develop into more than a 3rd line C if given the chance to play with Alfie and the 2nd line and bring a whole new dimension we really need behind Spezza on our top 6.

Funny how often people will pick the guys who score the goals over maybe the made the setup or did all the hard work to set up the goal. Speaking of goals Z. Smith had a great slap shot for a goal, he's another guy who has powerforward potential. I wonder what he would be like on the wing with Turris & Alfredson?

I am not even basing this on the goal Smith scored.

I though he looked excellent out there in period 1 and 2 as well. Confident young hockey player that is playing to his strength and taking charge. Put him with a sniper.

should be on the wing on that line, not Smith. Smith's strength down the middle, 2 way game, and face-off would be a better fit at C. He could also go head to head with the big C you wanna shutdown playing lots of minutes.

Just got back from the game. Not the best game the team has played, but it was nice to see Turris get his first and Anderson come up big, and most importantly, the win!

That's what im thinking. He's a great 3C...if he wants to move up though, i think he needs to move to wing. He doesn't have enough playmaking skills, unlike turris, to be a 2nd line C. That said, he has a good enough shot that he can be a winger in the mould of greening on spezza's line. Be the tough winger who has enough skill to contribute, but is mainly the guy driving the net, finishing checks and winning physical battles down low.

Imagine having something like...

Greening-spezza-michalek
Smith-turris-alfredsson

Decent amount of size and toughness mixed into the top 6.

Sens have jumped the Penguins and are now 5th in the EC.
Of course they have 3 games in hand, but still...

I know, i'm so pumped! I hope they gain a lot of confidence from this. I mean, this team is good. They are just inexperienced in certain areas. If they can just run with their confidence and not look back, we could make the playoffs this year, and for the next several years as more talent comes into a winning environment.

Greening - Spezza - Michalek
Smith - Turris - Alfredsson
Condra - Foligno - Butler

You're selling Condra short here...

Also, I'd rather have Smith on the third line because it gives us more depth and he gets to play against weaker defensive cast.

That's exactly my point & then add Zibanejad next season likely on the 3rd line with Foligno & Butler.

He doesn't have to be, he is just as effective on the wing. Turris is pretty good at faceoffs too & that would give us another faceoff winner when Turris is knocked out of the faceoff circle. Next yr Zibanejad could replace Smith at centre on the 3rd line.

Smith is awesome as a centre, yes, I'd just like to see him playing with Turris and Alfresson. Turris is a better centre than Smith.

Anyway, no real reason to shake it up. Having depth down the middle is what makes teams awesome. As the years go on we're going to have a plethora of talent fighting for spots on the team and Smith will likely get to play with more skilled linemates. Next year could be nice...

Michalek - Spezza - Silfverberg
Foligno - Turris - Alfredsson
Condra - Smith - Zibanejad
Daugavins - Konopka - Neil
