I was at the game.

A bit lackluster, Anderson was playing like he did down the stretch last year, so it worked out.

I thought Karlsson had a pretty solid game, all in all. Carried the puck out of harms way a few times.

That may have been Daugavins worst game as a Senator. Sharpen your skates man! Or something...

Alfie = instant chemistry with whomever - and tonight it was with Turris, and it was good to see.

It would be nice to have two scoring line threats.

The Konopka and Foligno lines weren't very impressive tonight - not able to impose themselves physically and thus were basically irrelevant.

Carkner destroyed that poor Bolt guy - props to the guy for actually fighting Carkner.

I really don't want to be a downer, but did anyone else notice Spezza doing his customary pre-back injury intermission stretching today?

My stream didn't show commercials but instead showed the ice during the intermission, and I noticed Spezza on the ice stretching, which is usually what he does when his back starts acting up.

Am I just being paranoid?

Glad to see Turris get his first goal! What's he up to now, 1G 5A in 8 games? I think we've seen worse.

That shot was a stunner.

I always knew he had the strength and the physicality but I never saw the finesse with him. Great to see him thriving this year.

Senators are 6-1-1 since "The Trade".

Turris - so hot right now.

Smith was amazing all night. He created so much havoc in the offensive zone and that slap shot was insane. I dont know why some of you guys have him slotted to play fourth line next year and beyond, this guy could be an amazing 3rd line center on a very good senators team in the near future.

What a night to be a sens fan.

I wouldn't be too worried atm. Until his play drops (offensively and defensively) then maybe we can start to worry but he looks fine out there, doesn't look to be fighting any nagging injury what so ever.

However I could totally be wrong and he is nursing a back injury.

We might have 4 centers capable of playing in all situations in the coming future. As far as 3rd line centers around the league go...whether Smith is our 3rd or 4th center, he'll be a better 3rd line center than the vast majority of teams have. He'd be a better 4th center than anyone has.

Great performance from Andy.

Needless to say, looks like Condra's presence on the 2nd line is really wearing off on Alfie and Turris.

Discuss?

Awesome day for Sens (and Zbad!), gotta love the character of that team

Great game by Andy, Alfie, Spezza, Condra, Smith, Cowen, Gonchar, etc.

But I'm really impressed by Turris. Never expected him to be that good (and didn't like the trade at all the first hour). The thought that it could only be the beginning is frightening (in a good way). There was a reason he was a 3rd overall pick. Hopefully he can keep it up, but 6 pts +6 in 8 games despite missing training camp is kinda good.

Daugavins is falling all over the ice, am I the only one who don't really see a purpose for him to stay? He hasn't done anything really noteworthy in a while.

Well, that's all for now. Can't catch the home & home vs the Flyers, but very huge test coming up. Hoping for Michalek to heat up and hopefully the team will remain healthy, sucks to be without Phillips.

Who know, by that time maybe Spezza have been traded or moved on throught UFA leaving Turris as the #1 center and Smith as the #2

Condra has proven himself, more so than Greening IMO and deserves to be were he is. Until the top prospects i.e. Zbad, Silverberg, or Da Costa who is lighting it up @ the A get here, or maybe a trade for a legit top 6 winger is made, he deserves to be a top 6 forward on this team. If anyone gets pumped down to 3rd line it is Greening.

I like Foligno better on the wing when Winnie-the-Pooh gets back. Butler is the 13th forward.

Nice to get the win, but until the very end of the second the Sens were not very good, except for Anderson who stole the game. That happens during a long season. The team had better bring the third period stuff in the first period this weekend against Philly or it will be ugly.

He broke his stick on the bench coming off one horrible shift.

So he knows he was playing badly.

Not sure why though.

Good game for the Sens in the 3rd, anyway... always nice for our captain to show 39 is not too old.

And for whatever reason, the thread title makes me think of this song...

- Z-bad with the GWG and gold
- Stone wins bronze and leads team Canada in goals and points
- 4 ASG starters causing Damien Cox to have a stroke
- Sens on fire

It's a good thing.

Just a slump; first full season. I'm not too worried, he seems to deal with adversity well.

He literally wiped out and fell over about 4 or 5 times under no pressure at all.

Was it his skates?

Who knows.
