Cole is the type of guy who works on any line because most of his goals come from his own work, not setups. The 'Staal made Cole' fallacy was disproven even before he signed for the Habs.
It's disproven here too because 75% of the time DD sets up Cole incredibly, he fans or misses the puck completely. Then just puts Beast Mode on and scores himself.

Staal makes Cole, yeah that's why he's on Pace to obliterate his career highs amirite?

Okay maybe "match" is the better word, but he's still on pace to break 30g for only the 2nd time in his career. Hard to understand how people thought that in the first place. Cole has always been a power forward, guys like that often times score goals on their own.

I couldnt shake Cole's time in edmonton. I was hoping he wasn't one of those players who only seems to play his best for one organization. I guess its just something about montreal. He plays his best whenever he is playing for or playing against that CH.

My only complaint about cole is his shoddy defensive zone work, but he's been exactly what the organization and fans could have hoped for.

The big guy's on pace to put up career highs in goals and points thanks to last night's 3-point game. Clearly one of the best free agent signings in recent memory, maybe ever, for the Habs. I love watching this guy play!

Nice to have some bright spots in an otherwise dismal season

Yep, thats for sure. Cole, Patches and DD are great combination that we can hopefully keep together the next 3 years. Now we just have to find a few more. But yeah, Cole is a beast.

First 15 games: 3G 2A= 5 Points -3
Last 34 games: 16G 18A= 34 Points +13

If he continues at the same pace as his last 34 games, he'll finish the year at about 30-35 goals and 35-40 assists.

Cole is a freaking monster out there. Cunney must love the way he plays, totally his north/south play mode.

I was a big fan of the signing from day 1 and even i must admit he's exceeded expectations. He's basically been playing at a point per game pace since about the 10 game mark. Very impressed with Cole's game.

He made me realize he was not a habs killer. He was and is the [insert opponent here] killer. Always giving 200% no matter the opposition or the score. Frustrating to watch for any fan of the teams he doesn't play with.

Plus, he'd be a great Captaincy contender.

We always find ourselves getting chances in the offensive zone when he's on the ice. It's incredible how fast and strong this guy is.

The thing about Cole is that he's one of the hardest workers on the team. I've heard from my dad who spoke to Ryan White that the team was really excited when they found out we got Cole and the guy leads by example and is one of the hardest workers at practice. That alone made me think we got a solid piece, and this was during his early season slump too.

Cole is no doubt the Montreal best player this year. If only we could get another Erik Cole on that 2nd line....

Who play exactly like Erik Cole in the NHL? Ufa this summer?

I'd love to get my hands on RJ Umberger somehow, another big had skating Habs killer! I think he already signed an extension though.

What does it say about Desharnais that Cole is having a career year playing along side him? We have a very talented center on our hands.

Umbarger's contract is a killer.... Unless you trade Gomez for him.

Not many....

Cole's signing is the brightest move Gauthier has made so far. Bourque's trade is the second one.. Eller's could become a very solid one.

So, these are 3 big guys that are making or will make the difference in the future.

Its basically the same contract as Cole (1 year longer, but about the same cap hit), except that he's younger. He produces (before this year) at about the same pace as Cole too. Yes we'd obviously have to get rid of Gomez, but a man can dream can't he?

We had a guy that the Habs wished would play like Eric Cole, he is no longer here. It is awesome watching Cole chip the puck past a d man and fly by him and go hard to the net. He started slow but holy crap!!!! It is not his fault that we are on the outside looking in. He is a fan favorite and has to be a coaches favorite, Eric Cole truly is ****ing awesome.

BUMP!

Just a reminder of the ****ing awesomeness that is ERIK COLE!

Those two goals in the last couple of games were both beauties. Oh, and he celebrates like a boss.
