Any way we can get Rick Nash?

Rick Nash is a goalscorer. We have the centers. Is there any way Detroit can trade for him? Picks and prospect? Maybe some players, but find it difficult that we have anyone with trade value from the NHL-squad that could be involved in this.

Hard to pull off a trade in division too. That's going to drive up the cost.

Columbus wouldn't be dumb enough to deal him in their own division. Unless something crazy happens with alignment and one of Detroit or Columbus end up in the 'East', there's almost no chance.

We don't have the pieces. Tons of other teams would throw way bigger packages for a guy like Nash. As much as I'd like to see it, it won't happen.

They won't want established stars. They need to rebuild so pick and prospects.

As much as I like Nash, and would want him a Red Wing, I do not see this happening... same conference, and division... Nash IS Columbus.. Unless Columbus moves to the east next year, or Detroit... def ain't happening.

I do find it amusing how people will always call him overrated. .

He is overrated.

Love to have him(not at his cap hit) bu tcan probably pay less for a bit of a downgrade(Parise anyone, who is arguably better just not as big and Canadian).

He's actually exactly what the Wings need, just not at that much. And they'd never get him from CBJ.

I'd love to have him but being division rivals and all I'm guessing it takes:

Filppula
Smith
Sheahan
2 1sts.

Maybe more.

Wow, noway... not worth all that and the added cap hit. Maybe if he had a decent contract, but what are you going to do with the combined cap hits of Hank,Dats,Mule and Nash not to mention what is going to be needed to spend on defense. We could get a lot more bang for our buck if we are going to trade away all of that.

Ditto. Columbus would have to get something significant for him to not completely alienate their fans, and giving up a bunch for a guy who is signed to a market value to market value+ kind of deal isn't a good idea.

If he was expiring and in a position where Detroit could re-up with him in a lifetime deal with a reasonable cap hit, sure. Unfortunately for him...
