Another 7-2 win would be nice. I'd settle for a 3-2 win though. With both Timonen and Pronger out, and both Lilja and Walker (potentially) in the lineup, maybe we'll play a little bit more conservative than usual.

Hat trick from JvR.

Really eager to see what JVR does this game. Is he over what we assumed was an injury? I hope so.

These might be the worst defensive pairings since the Zhitnik days.

I hope JVR can build off his game against the Blackhawks.

id love to see Gus get some burn this game, he is going to need to eventually become a top 4 dman for this team.

Remember the 07-08 playoffs against Pittsburgh when we had both Timonen and Coburn injured? Jason Smith played with two dislocated shoulders or something like that, Derian Hatcher could barely skate anymore, Ryan Parent was playing well for a rookie dman called up from the AHL, Jaroslav Modry somehow looked even slower than Hatcher, Lasse Kukkonen... tried to block shots I guess. Randy freaking Jones was our best defender.

Not that the current d-pairings would inspire much confidence if Timonen were to be out for an extended period.

Why aren't "Randy Jones" banned on this board? Should turn out as "***** *****".

I guess you can't put Lilja and Walker together and play them for 4 minutes.

I'd rather have Marshall than Walker. Gustaffson should have been called up before playing for the Phantoms yesterday - that was stupid.

Why waive Walker then play him? First - he sucks - and now he's insulted again on top of that. Not good.

I don't see any way the Flyers can get more than 2 points this weekend.

Maybe they thought it would be good for the kids to play an out-door game, or maybe they actually care enough about the Phantoms to want them to win that prestige game? I don't know, I'd prefer Gustafsson or Marshall over Walker as well, but if it's only for one game we should be able to survive it.

Walker isn't the first player to be waived, and then inserted into the lineup the next game either. I doubt he'll be insulted by this.

I'm not completely sure about that, but I think a player on waivers doesn't count against the roster limit. We had Walker, Shelley and Jagr on the roster and needed a replacement (Gustafsson) for Timonen, we needed a open roster spot without putting anyone on IR.

With Timonen out now, Bryzgalov had better be on his game. Either that, or the Flyers will have to outscore the Senators.

RT @davegisaac: Kimmo Timonen is in the building. Looks like he'll play. Ironman streak intact. #Flyers

Honestly wish the guy would just take a couple nights off if he's banged up.

I think they wanted to let Gustafsson play in the outdoor game. Not a big deal.

I think Walker knows the deal at this point. He knows he is way overpriced to not be shutting back and forth to the minors, and every day he gets on an NHL roster is gravy. He wanted the money, it's the nature of the beast.

At least he's not Jeff Finger.

Panotch just tweeted that he expects kimmo to play. No softcast any more. That explains why they did not call up Gust.

It would've been nice to see CBC-Ottawa air at least one of these two games. Damn.

One of the few games with "normal time" for a central European guy (7 p.m. local) ... And Jagr is out. Grrrr >_<

Edit: Although it of course isn't the only reason to watch.. I really hope JVR will do some hell of a job again
