What I really don't get is how a so called Union like the NHLPA can lean on lets say 30 of it's members in Winnipeg & basically say screw you!

The only reason it was rejected is because the CBA is up and they want to use it as a negotiating chip.

You can correct me but I think that's how it was before it changed to our current format.
That's essentially the same thing in the end though anyways.

I don't even know why the players have a say in this. Just play and ****. If I want to reorg my company, I will. Especially for the money these clowns get.

For the most part it really isn't players. It's the suits that represent the players. The more players benefit, they benefit as well.

I think we're headed for a lockout.

It's close to being the same thing but it cuts down travelling in the playoffs. Who the hell would want a semi-final BOS-SJ? That's nonsense for travelling. Unless they change the series format to a 2-3-2 like in the AHL.

This is what I posted on the main board:

How can we forget that a Major League Baseball season ended prematurely, with no World Series played. Is that what you want in your rookie season with the NHL, Mr. Fehr? Would you like to see a new CBA in which the NHLPA ends up making painful concessions?

It would be fun to see the nhl adopt the relegation tourny like they use in the wjhc. reorganize the divisions each year; it would be fun to see what happens. although, travel could be fed up.

I don't think you'd like the opinion other teams will have on the Habs playing style.

If there's a lockout this time, I think it's the end of the NHL. I for one won't be watching after that and I know tons of people that feel the same way. So they better be careful this time around.

Fehr is an absolute dick...he is a hard liner type of guy, the only thing that may happen, where most of the players have been through this already is, they will tell him to negotiate the best deal possible without them losing any money this upcoming season...

Whatever they decide on doing, they cannot afford a work stoppage. The NHL and NHLPA have to factor in the consequences this stoppage would have on their fans, the ones who are main reason they are getting paid.

you might as well fold the Isles and Canes in tht format

how are they ever going to compete if its top 4 make it

maybe if they were reseeded 1-8 I can live with it somewhat , but this system is a joke

There will either be a re-alignment or lockout. This is Fehr holding the league hostage like he did in MLB.

Let's be honest here, the Isles will probably be gone in a few years. The Nassau Coliseum lease runs out in 2015, and it looks like nobody wants them.

I sounded off about teams moving etc. Some fans don't think teams should be able to move where I say it is a business and if the owners want to up and move their team then they should be able to and that goes for the O6 teams also say Molson or Wirtz etc got an offer from a city saying he we will build you a 25K seat barn and you won't have to pay any municipal taxes etc then why shouldn't they be able to up and move their team. Just like the players are saying no we don't want re alignment they can strike if the NHL tries to push it through or the teams can lock out the players if they force their hand etc. This is all a business and things never usually go as smoothly as one would like.
