Stay classy, gentlemen.
Even their broadcast team conceded every one of the Carolina penalties. It's venting ... we've been guilty of it here too.

Now Ryan Ellis needs to get in a fight ... 1st NHL assist, 1st NHL goal, ... finish the Howe in one night.

For a 21-year old defenseman that reminds the staff of Ryan Suter, if he figures out how to stick-check like Suter, he will be yet another in the long line of fantastic defenseman.

And good lord, Rinne is amazing.

What the hell was Weber just doing on the kill? Trying to get an assist for Carolina?

I agree, but still. It's their board. You can report it if you want, but I don't think anything will happen.

Wasn't planning on reporting it. Just merely remarking that after this long in the league, there are still sentiments that the fans in Nashville are still dumb, especially from another southern expansion franchise. (And not just that one remark, I live here and I hear it quite a bit).

Yeah. It's frustrating, but you have to keep in mind that those who want to continue the stereotype that Tennesseans are stupid are pretty ignorant.

That's true. But I've been spreading the word to as many as I can about you guys out there. I've heard many good things in Detroit, Montreal, NY and the entire Northeast about Nashville, and I'm doing what I can to encourage some Canes fans to watch the Predators organization as a whole. But it is very frustrating to hear stuff like that about the smaller southern expansions, because they should realistically be sticking together seeing what happened to Atlanta (and maybe Phoenix too).

Edit: I also know my picture is misleading. I'm a Predators fan, but my first team is and always will be the Rangers, I just REALLY like Pekka.

We pressured them all night ... generated a ton of chances .... capitalized on the PP. Once goal allowed after Peks loses his stick and Fisher loses his man ... and one on a bad luck bounce off Ellis as he mans up down low.

Overall a good game for the guys who needed a confidence boost and a nice game for Ellis.

At least Canadian media will go overboard reporting on 1 PREDS goal. Congrats former World Junior Star, now NASHVILLE PREDATOR, RYAN ELLIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's cool. I don't think you've caused any trouble for me so no worries. And thanks. I guess Fugu wanted to reward me for spending four hours wading through crap this afternoon

Back on topic here, I'm glad that the PP decided to come back. Granted, it was against a very poor PK with a back up netminder who has seen all of two games now this season. No better time to get back on track than when you are facing weak competition. Let's hope it carries over.

this team has a bad habit of making backups look awesome... good to see them break that pattern...

A great game. We needed this after the Dallas game, Smith and Hornqvist and Fisher come off the snide with tallies. Wilson is our catalyst. Welcome Back Shea Weber his laser got us off to a good start and our good forecheck carried us the rest of the way. Ryan Ellis welcome to Nashville and congrats on your first goal ....a beauty!!! PP was awesome tonight. I think they've got something it's like the first unit d pairing is competing with the second unit. Rinne with the stop when he needed to be. I really enjoyed the Carolina crew call of the game they give us more insight into own players than our own announcers. Like the point that Rinne keeps track of all the players on the other team for the shootout. Shows why he the best I've ever seen. Ryan Ellis is proving that Blum is the expendable one. Keep up it. Hillen needs to go we didn't miss him at all and he should be a part of the pkg to bring us a better SOB. Again Trotzy put Wilson and Smith together!!!!!! Sk goes back to being invisible again. The crowd looked great!!!! Awesome win

The comment that's got you all in a tizzy was actually sarcasm. Considering the GDT title included Tim McGraw and Dale Jr., it was making fun of the whole Southerners know nothing about hockey line of thinking. Fact is, we get the same kind of crap Preds fans do. Furthermore, the same chants are heard at the RBC Center from Canes fan.

And we do stick together. The organizations seem to have a good relationship (trades in the past, Kirk Muller, splitting the Atlanta market). Most Canes fans were pulling for our Southern allies in the playoffs (hopefully you guys do the same when Carolina gets back there.) So, please don't make something out of nothing.

A couple goals by PP2 tonight. (That's impressive considering the efficiency of PP1 led by Weber.) It was fun watching youngsters Josi and Ellis pass it around before the tee up for Ellis. Ellis gives Trotz a big point shot for PP2.

I don't remember the last time our PP was this good. How was it when Kariya was on the team?

not sure how it ranked league wide but it was our bread and butter as far as scoring... we were pretty anemic 5-on-5 back in those days

Surprisingly, our PP wasn't that great then. Our offense was ranked fifth in the league. Our PP? 18th

http://www.nhl.com/ice/teamstats.htm...ewName=summary

(the year before it was 10th at 18.4)

I will never forget a wonderful sign held up during the duckies playoffs series from Canes fans in support of "Southern Hockey". Very, very best of luck (until Feb 28th, that is) to you guys, especially now with Coach Kirk.

Just watching the replay of this game. You guys are amazing. I'll put you up against any crowd in the NHL.

And the Carolina guys are praising the Nashville organization as well.

Sad but true.

I didn't get to watch the 3rd period. Have some people over drinking. Gratz to Ellis on his first NHL goal though. A stepping stone for him, he's looking more comfortable each game, especially on the powerplay.

Good to see Smith get the monkey off his back. Has been a tough going for him the last little while.
