Washington vs. LA; New Lines

Brown back at LW. Richards back at center.

Brown-Kopitar-Williams
Penner-Richards-Stoll
Richardson-Loktionov-Lewis
Clifford-Fraser-Hunter-Westgarth

Voynov is possibly back in the lineup. He's going through full team practice.

Richardson/Loktionov/Lewis was our best line yesterday. Not saying much, but they had the best pressure and scoring opportunities.

I dunno man...Kopitar and Brown still...I just hate it so much. Brown is too stupid a hockey player to play on a top line.

Unless Kopitar likes his linemates scoring opportunities to come from below the hash marks and outside the circles on a consistent basis...

Ah, was looking for a thread to talk about this

I am very happy with those lines. Most importantly, the breaking up of Richards and Kopitar. It was just ridiculous watching them run into each other behind the net on every play. They had no chemistry whatsoever and were both acting like #1 centers on one line.

That third line has been buzzing, so I am glad that they are left together. Brown has been good on the left side as of late, and Williams desperately needs a boost, he doesn't belong on the third line as he isn't the best two way winger.

Stoll is miserable at center. Yeah, he can take faceoffs, but entering the opponent's zone is always met with failure and he doesn't have the playmaking ability to setup his wingers, and none of our wingers really have the playmaking ability to set him up in the slot, and he keeps trying to snipe the corner in traffic, which results in missing the net wide rather than just getting the puck on net.

It is time to put our top 6 talent on the top 6 and leave them there, we are going to sink or swim with them at the helm. Richardson and Lewis were a good experiment, I applaud the idea, but their speed doesn't make up for the fact that they have no hands and a limited shot selection. Hopefully Richards can get something out of them.

You also forgot about his team leading 17 minor penalties

Have I mentioned yet, how much I LOVE that Lotkinov Lewis, Richardson line??

No, ok well, I think they are potentionally one of the best lines the Kings have had in a while, when they are all working hard like they do, they can hem in the other team for a full shift and not blink an eye.

Richardson and Lewis are two of the hardest working forwards we have seen out there. And.....I think the benching in the beginning of the year, caused this, they were definitely not playing like this in the beginning of the year.

Love the fact that Lokti's line remains intact, as well as moving Brownie over to the LW and Stoll over on the RW.

It doesn't take too much to make me happy though.

You and I have the same exact thoughts. Except the bolded part I changed in your original quote is what would make me truly happy

Yes! Finally! Put Brown back to LW where he is obviously better (and can finish) and take Stoll out of the 3C position. He is good at faceoffs and nothing else - would rather have Lokti there.

If Stoll takes a discount (low cap hit) to get more years, then I can see him being re-sgined by Dean.

Couldn't agree more. And I'm hoping that being at wing is the reason he's not been playing up to par since he returned from injury. I hope he didn't come back too soon because the team was in a major downspin.

Being back at center and having his #1 enemy coming in (ovie) should bring out the beast in him.

Unless he plays better, I couldn't care less whether he'd be willing to take a discount or not. I don't want him taking up roster spot.
