1969 would probably get my vote. Hull, Mikita and Esposito were superstars. Beliveau and Howe were still productive, Bobby Orr arrived on the scene.

Any year Gretzky and Mario were in both prime condition. There were always prime Bourques, Messiers, Yzermans etc. during the same time. Some early 90's season.

If this is just about star/name power then it would easily be just about any year from the 90s.
Gretzky, Lemieux, Yzerman, Jagr, Bourque, Coffey, Lidstrom, Hasek, Roy, etc...just off the top of my head.
