I really hope Mularkey isn't an actual real candidate. He already sucked hard before, we don't need a retread. As for Zimmer....meh. We'd need one heck of an offensive coaching staff, if so.
With all due fairness to Mularkey, it was the Bills for one, and for the most part, he really hasn't gotten a fair chance. His first season, he started out 0-4 and finished 9-7. The second season was a cluster with QB issues and ownership that decided to bring in ex-HC Levy to be a consultant so Mularkey resigned.
Then he got stuck for 2 years in a bad Dolphins organization under Saban and Cam Cameron. When he started out he had 3 great seasons as the Steelers OC and is now working well in Atlanta. I think he could be a good choice, but he'll really need a solid DC for this Bucs team.
Maybe the Bucs should look closer to home like Plant or Armwood....
Colts offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen, if let go, could be a strong candidate for the position based on his previous experience with Smith for the Buccaneers. But an NFL source said if Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey lands a head coaching job (the Jaguars and Bucs are interested in him) Christensen will go with him. The source said Mularkey will be the leading candidate in Jacksonville.
mortreport Chris Mortensen
Bucs clearly want seasoned coach to replace Morris; Mike Sherman, Brad Childress (interview Mon), Wade Phillips & Mike Zimmer r candidates
Marty Schottenheimer is on Bucs' radar but not at top; he is hungry to coach. Note that Marv Levy went to his 4th Super Bowl at age 68.
Not wild about Childress but I'm glad we're interviewing more than 2 people.
I like Wade Phillips as a DC but he sucks as a head coach. Being the DC at Houston eliminates him from DC here unless he was given permission (doubtful).
I don't count Dallas as a strike against him because of the idiot GM they have....
Good lord, I just saw that they were going to interview Childress, why fire Raheem if you're just going to bring Childress in? (I know why, but I can't see Childress being an upgrade)

What's wrong with Childress? He helped develop Donovan McNabb and Tarvaris Jackson.....

TBO.com is reporting the Bucs are showing interest in interviewing Marty Shottenheimer....he'll be 70 when next season rolls around....Do you think JoePa would be interested in going pro?
Either the Glazers or Dominick have lost their minds or this is one big smoke screen and someone we never expected will walk through the doors at One Yuck Place....
BTW - Zimmer's agent said he hasn't been contacted....
Why not Schottenheimer? He's old and chokes in the playoffs but he's the disciplinarian and leader we need. He wouldn't be around THAT long but considering the names we are hiring they likely won't be around that long anyway. Raheem Morris had 2 losing seasons in 3 years, Schottenheimer had 2 losing seasons in 21 years. He only has a .278 Winning% in the Playoffs but that doesn't matter to us now, but he has a .613 winning % in the regular season.
Just put it in his contract that he's not allowed to hire his son as OC.
