Rangers Prospect Poll: #3

Another easy round with Timmmay taking the second spot, and Jesper Fasth being added to the poll.

Please write who you want added to the poll, and give a reason for it. This makes the discussion here more lively.

THE RULES

WHO IS A PROSPECT: We can't all have different standards based on what we each want personally. We are on the HF board, so let's follow their rules. The standard for what's a prospect is here: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/whatmakesaprospect

* Please don't write that so-and-so should or should not be a prospect. It's not up to each individual here to decide, it's up to the HF rules.

HOW TO RANK PROSPECTS: Based on their value in a hypothetical trade or waiver draft. This takes into consideration a prospect's ceiling, how close he's to making it, his health, work ethic, the whole deal. Imagine there was a prospect waiver draft and you could keep only one prospect. That guy is our #1 prospect. Then imagine we had one more waiver protection. That guy is our #2 prospect.

TOP PROSPECTS

1. LW Chris Kreider
2. D Tim Erixon

Born Feb 14 1991 -- Port Chester, NY
Height 6.03 -- Weight 205 -- Shoots L

Add Shane McColgan. Went with Miller, but it was close with McIlrath and Hagelin.

Once again. The guy ACTUALLY SCORING NHL GOALS.

This board astounds me... and not in a good way.

I don't look at it in that sort of a vacuum.

Hagelin is a good prospect. He is also 23. Ortmeyer was scoring NHL goal at age 24, I wouldn't rank him ahead of a top prospect for that reason alone.

Went with Miller because of how he impressed at such a young age. Hags is doing amazing, but I think Miller has a higher upside.

Wait, I didn't even think to look at MacIlrath...

At the same time, Hagelin's speed and knack of scoring at the NHL level thus far has to put him higher than a Miller or Thomas at this point in their careers. I know this is based on prospects, but his talent is NHL proven. Miller is very raw, and in my opinion not an elite prospect. Thomas has an excellent wrist shot, but his size is a big issue. Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions but Hagelin is producing now and looks like he has the potential to improve.

We'll see, I suppose. I'm no expert on prospects, but Hagelin still has some significant holes in his game. I see him as a Helm. Which is a very important role, especially on this team which has little forward speed.

But I think Miller and McIlrath will both be more valuable overall players.

Hagelin's without a doubt my #4, but this one has got to go to Miller.

I know that Carl has excelled at the NHL thus far, but Miller is going to be absolutely huge for this team. Skill/size like Dubinsky, busts his ass and hits everything that moves like Callahan.

I think he'll be more of an impact player then Hagelin, although both are going to be great.

What would those be? Aside from unchangeable flaws like his stature, I've failed to recognize any significant holes, or for that matter, any holes really at all.

I mean nobody expected him to be a scoring winger in the show. He's certainly looking like he could prove us wrong.

Hags. He's already at 0.5 ppg as a rookie.
with his speed and solid defense, he's going to be in this league for a long time.

add Foggy

Went with Hags. Had a hard time splitting him, MSC and Miller so I went with the guy who is contributing at the top level.

Cynical, you need to relax it's not that hard to understand that people will think there are more valuable prospects then Hags based on perceived upside.
