1998-99 Season Flashback - Name our leading scorer and how many points he had

Top 5 scorers

Saku Koivu 65 14 30 44
Martin Rucinsky 73 17 17 34
Vladimir Malakhov MTL D 62 13 21 34
Shayne Corson MTL L 63 12 20 32
Benoit Brunet MTL L 60 14 17 31

Ouch! 44 points led the team in scoring. Only 5 guys cracked 30
(in fairness Recchi had 47 and Damphouse had 36 but both got traded and didn't finish the season in Montreal)

I was going to say Koivu, but had no idea his point totals were that low. Yikes.

44 is crazy low. We already have 8 guys in the NHL this season that have hit that total at the halfway point

That year the Habs scored 2nd lowest total of goals (184g -25), Tampa Bay were dead last with (179g -113)

It was the years of big goalie padding, which did not help.
