Brule would be a warm body, which qualifies him for work in the Pittsburgh slaughterhouse.

I don't know why a team that is looking for some sort of spark wouldn't take Brule. The cost is what 500k for the rest of the year?

Some young team should take Brule. Why not? He's on re-entry, so really his salary is piss all. If he does well re-sign him, if not don't qualify him.

I'd like the Sabres to take a shot at claiming Brule. Like the poster above me said, he's cheap and if he works, re-sign him, if not, don't qualify him in the summer.

We need someone who can play center and we need something new. At that price we'd get a guy who might be able to contribute some offense here. It's a low risk move for any team to claim him.

Islanders should take Brule or some fast team, he's very speedy.

With Sharp going down for 3-4 weeks and the Hawks needing a #2 Center, I wonder if Brule could be grabbed by Chicago. Fraser also sounds like a young SAH d-man. I'd like to see Bowman put a claim in for these two. Rather see Fraser over O'Donnell

Be better than Reasoner or Pandolfo centering the 4th.

O'Donnell is old and slow but Fraser is nothing more than an alright bottom-pairing guy. He's more ideal as a 7th defenseman. He'll drop the mitts and isn't a liability on the ice, but he doesn't do too much else. He's been on waivers before and he's been traded once. It goes to show what he has to offer.

He can't be better than O'Donnell or Lepisto. He's definitely better than Scott though but that's not saying much.

NJ waives someone seemingly everyday, so I'm not surprised about Sestito. I am laughing at the waiving of Fraser though.

I hope somebody picks up Brule. I actually really like his game, but he's lost in Edmonton and makes too much, on a 1-way deal, that if the team re-signed him to another deal, it'd be a two-way, minimally paying one and pretty much a big insult...not to mention that the Oilers have literally no room for him to excel anywhere (unless he can become a solid 4th line C).

I'd love to see him go to a very good team and find a role as a two-way forward on a team just looking to upgrade offensively for little money.

I could really see him thrive in Detroit, NJ, Toronto, or SJ.

I'd be very surprised if someone took Brule, I like the kid but I assume this is Tambos attempt to free up a contract space.

If someone takes him great, if not oh well. I like the guy and hope he can turn it around.

As sad as it is to say this, getting Brule picked up by another team will actually make the Oilers a worse team.

So I guess what I'm saying is please pick Brule off waivers so we're stuck with O'Marra centering our 2nd line and we get a higher lottery pick.

Brule in 09/10 form fits Pens like a glove. Brule in the form he showed most of last season fits very few NHL teams.

Right now we are in the situation where gambling on bringing Brule back into 09/10 territory is an obvious low-cost, low-risk move, that could pay dividends.
I hope Shero puts in a claim.

He is on re-entry, so the Oilers will have some dead cap space if he is claimed. However, I'm not sure that would count as a contract space or not. I'd imagine it wouldn't but I'm not 100% sure.

Correct. Of the teams that put in a claim for him, if any, he'll be awarded to the team lowest in the current standings tomorrow at noon.

Brule missed some games around Christmas because of second degree burns on his hand from the jam of a Poptart.

That's how injury prone he is, and I wish I was joking about the above.

Is any team really going to want him?

I think the Habs will to shut the protestors up and give them some French flavor. I know that Brule isn't French it's just the French names and having French music played during he games

I thought about Pitt, and I think he'd be an upgrade on what you had with Letestu, but Brule is psychologically fragile and wouldn't stand up to the kind of scrutiny the Pittsburgh fans and media threw at Letestu. Not even close.
