Apparently you've never experienced back spasms before.

Gilbert Brule was on the shelf recently because he burnt his hand on some hot pop tart filling.

Seriously.

I'm guessing that he injured himself doing something much more embarrassing than eating pancakes, and this is his cover story.

Next time he scores a goal, if ever, we should throw pancakes onto the ice.

At this point, someone will have to invent a time machine in order to do that.

I always thought he was a waffle kind of guy...

Seriously though, why would he tell people that? Just tell people you slipped and fell while washing your car.

As someone who tries to be funny. This is Penner trying to be funny.

That being said, Bandit nailed it

He is just trolling and joking around, there is no correlation between pancakes and his back problems. He is sneering at the fans and media that created the rumors.

Meh It happens. I am not reading into it too much.

My friend threw out his back and had spasms while bending over to pick up a tennis ball.

And that is why you should never pick up a tennis ball with your butt. No matter how hot the girl is that's daring you. (You can try it if she shows her boobs)

When Penner returns, someone better throw a pancake on the ice when[if] he scores his next goal!

^This. Oh. My, God. This!

On a serious note, back spasms suck. Was sick most of last week and was sitting on the couch, started sneezing and my back locked up. Was out of commission for about 3 days with pain everytime i turned my head. Not fun.

If I was Penner or his agent I would have said I hurt my back lifting weights or jogging-anything but eating pancakes. And for the love of God those pancakes better have been whole wheat or something healthy. If he's still being fed regular pancakes the fans eat there is a serious problem.
