Barely 1st in the West. Detroit has 2 games on us, San Jose has a half dozen almost. St. Louis also has 2.
And? Check out the OT points for San Jose and Chicago. Not pretty.
Points % is still really close, and the Canucks always play better at home. Chicago is going on a baby slide for awhile, Detroit struggles mightily on the road, and SJ isn't as scary to me this year as they were last year.
I wonder if Hodgson will be on the second line vs Tampa?
Hope so. The guy is clearly the Canucks' smartest and most talented player after the Sedins. Good puck handling, good vision and playmaking, and a great shot. He's a weapon that I'm hoping the Canucks use in an increased role when they're struggling. However, when the team is firing on all cylinders it's nice to have him anchoring the 3rd line.
Kinda OT: It's widely known that having quality and depth at the center position plays a huge role in the success - short term and long term - of an organization and it's one of the biggest reasons why the Canucks are going to continue to have success for a long time. To have a home grown top 3 center trio of Henrik Sedin, Ryan Kesler and Cody Hodgson is just such a luxury and it's one of my favourite aspects of this team.
