We need better defense if we want to win a championship.

We need better goaltending if we want any hope of even competing for the division.

Yes, but he also allowed a crucial weak goal that cost us the game.

And I wouldn't bet on Holmgren riding M.Leighton again come playoff time. Bob may become untouchable if Bryz can't get out of his slump.

THAT is stealing a game. 35 saves on 36 shots by BOB.

Securing a W in a 2-1 game where the skaters quite frankly looked horrible....that is a stolen game.

Not a goalie who squeezes a W in a 4-3 or 5-4 game.

Honestly, I think we should do what the Nucks did with Luongo. And that is sit his ass for at least 5 straight games, hopefully he gets his **** back together and make him earn it.

Bob played a great game, and should be the starting goalie next game. But the skaters did NOT look horrible on defense.

Fine. Chose an adjective that is slightly below horrible and IMO, that is what they were.

The only goal came because they just stood there and let BOB take bomb after bomb.

Then don't even get me started on all the belly sliding to end the 2nd and the 3rd.

Maybe they thought they were from Pitt?

The defense only looks horrible when bryz is in net.

Come on now, the only thing that would've prevented that goal was if Meszaros had won the battle on the boards, other than that it was so fast that you really couldn't do much else than what they did. The rebounds didn't even go to the same spot, so it was hard to prevent it. It was an all-around great play by Carolina, you have to give it to them.

Bob was locked in tonight. I actually can't remember a better game by a Flyers goalie in quite some time. Start him till he ***** the bed.

Roo peeled off Sansone a split second before the initial shot. Puck just happened to hit the kid right in the stick IIRC. Tough rebound to control.

He's too mentally fragile for that, I think. Luongo isn't exactly strong but he's stronger than Bryz.

Fantastic game by Bob tonight! He just has to quietly do his job.

That is the type of game Bryz is paid to win and more often than once a half season.

So, what happens if Bob plays well up to the trade deadline? Think he is still gonna be trade bait for a good defenseman? Or are we gonna try and keep him?

He'll be kept until at least the offseason.

Bryz used to be the best available goaltender on paper but we signed him to a horrible contract.
You just can't give away a 9 year deal to a player who has not even played a single game for your organization!
dont forget that no movement clause as well

Bob's done in one game what Bryz hasn't done all season, he stole that single-handedly.

no. we will keep Bobrovsky thru the season. Cant trade him without getting another goalie back. We are out of options after Bryzgalov and Bobrovsky

Well, Bryz can be given a lot of credit for an Islanders game too.

Edit: If I'm Holmgren I'd hold onto Bob until they see what Hovinen can do in the AHL, or they re-sign Sunshine, etc. We've got nobody else who can step in, and with the way Bryz is playing moving Bob would be bad; it'd be like Homer trading Timonen, a loss the team wouldn't be able to sustain more than likely.
