The Rangers were a joke from 1997 until 2004. Rangers and Garden brass(ITT/Rand Arakog)got into a squabble with Mark Messier so he left for Vancouver. Stupid decision by both parties. Messier was miserable in Vancouver. The Rangers had no plan to replace Messier who was not the Messier of old but he was still Mark Messier. Everything was downhill from there.
Cool...an unwanted reminder of the years in the wilderness states the obvious. Thanks, Holik. What's next, the Devils are not the team they were when they were winning championships?
God, what awful times those were when he played here. But, he's right. On both of those things. He just sounds mad because he's too ugly to be on the team now.
I'll never forget Holik's quote... "I believe, fundamentally, we are the worst team in the National Hockey League."
He was right then and his current tweet may be correct as well. Unfortunately it took us almost 8 years since Holik's first quote to get to this point, but I'm going to enjoy the Rangers' success while it lasts.
The worst Non-Rangers to ever wear the sweater. And the organization treated them like gold. Better than they were ever treated by the devs
Actually..Johnny Mac was not treated very well by the Rangers, and was actually pretty good for the 2 full seasons he was here. He scored 28 goals his 1st year, 18 the next. But then once Sather got here, he pretty much rail roaded him out of town, saying that he couldn't get up and down the ice anymore, and refused to play him. And he might have been right, but he really didn't even give him much of a chance, and it always annoyed me the way he treated him. I felt a player of MacLean's stature, deserved a little more respect, in my opinion.
I did not know that a team who was in first place was a better team than those who didn't make the playoffs, I needed to be told this by a hockey player who got paid a lot of money to play on a team that couldn't make the playoffs.
Is it sad when the only thing I can remember about Holik as a ranger is when he accidentally collided with Keith Primeau at center ice ending Keith's career with a concussion? Then someone challenged him to a fight and he skated away scared?

The Joe Sakic offer sheet looked promising for a couple of days.
Thank You for this horrible reminder Captain Obvious Holik.
I remember nothing positive about Holik or the time he spent with us.
edit: Actually I do remember that Holik spouted a lot of honesty, but did little in the way of providing a solution. He made a bad situation even worse, IMO.
