Boy, using my own user name to poke a hole in my argument. That's low, Beef.

The Habs sacrifice pure offense for two-way play. Our forwards dip their skates into the opposing zone and then jump back instantly to swamp the neutral zone. Teams like Boston that come out strong often get gummed up by our neutral zone play, or have nowhere to pass in our zone. They might out-muscle us in front of our goal, but that creates messy shots that only go in with lucky bounces. The result of that cautious system is a low-scoring team that usually wins or loses by one goal.

You probably know we recently changed coaches in an attempt to jumpstart our awful offense. First test of this new system against Boston comes this week.

I'd love to combine our D with the Flyers offense and watch what happens...

It burned my fingers to type it out.

The key to beating the Bruins is making them playing an overly emotional game, because they make a lot of bad decisions once they get out of the system and start playing overly emotional (see Marchand hit).

The Montreal-Boston rivalry has been hyped up to absurd levels in the two cities right now (I wouldn't go to a game in Boston against the Habs --- too dangerous), and so a lot of Habs-Bruins games end up with the Bruins having a parade to the box at some point, and the game turns on if the Habs can capitalize.

Chara is tough. He's extremely tough. I suggest looking on You Tube and seeing some of the fights he's been in. He doesn't fight much and there's a reason for it - the dude has sledge hammers for fists. There's a reason why even the league's toughest players won't fight him. Take a look at his fight with David Koci when Chara split him from forehead to the bridge of Koci's nose. And Koci is no small dude either - 6'6, 238 pounds.
