Giroux hurt?

Giroux has been off the charts this year but the past few games his timing is off, he seems slower, he is making mistakes, he looks a little behind on D.

Put it all together and it seems to me he isn't right. With the recent concussion - this has me very concerned. Is it just me? I hope I am wrong:

Last 8 games: 1 goal, 4 assists, -3, 0 Powerplay points

Could just be a little cold stretch, but to me he doesn't look right. Curious what others think.

No one is giving him space to do anything. Also, most of the opposition are waiting for the inevitable blind pass from him or his other linemates.

i agree he hasn't looked himself the past few games. he's not going to play like a superstar every single night though, and is still on pace for 108 points. i don't think he's hurt, i think he's just having a bit of a cold streak. nothing to worry about IMO

the fact his buddy Jag's is hurt/recovering isnt helping Roo's point output either..

think its a mix of issues..

with the way the team has been playing lately i wouldnt be suprized if hes feeling a funk/down in the dumps..

its gotta suck to be putting up enuf goals nitely to win , but still manage to loss..

cant blame a man for feeling down in lite of the teams sad performance as of late.

This frustrated me the most being at the game yesterday. Watching Giroux, Jagr and Hartnell all skate around with the puck trying to make a pass, and eventually trying to force a pass into an area tat they had no business passing into and ending up giving the puck away instead of making a simple play or heaven forbid throwing the puck on net. Sure when these blind or forced passes work they look amazing but the problem is thy hardly ever work. I don't think Giroux is playing hurt however him along with the rest of his line is trying to hard to make the perfect play.

Jagr not being in the lineup didn't help at all either.

He may be hurt, but he hasn't slowed down. Dude can ****ing fly. How about that backcheck yesterday when he started out behind and got the **** back?

He still created, he just didn't have anything to show for it. He'll be fine.

The Sens shut him down better than I've seen a team manage this entire season.
He still created opportunities for himself and his teammates, they just had nothing to show for it on the scoreboard.

I just think he had two off games, nothing to worry about really. He still looked like G, just wasn't producing.

Also, Harts is by far the worst with the blind passes.

Yeah I was screaming at my TV last night when G basically could have walked the puck in on net and blast it but instead made a high-risk pass that of course got deflected. With his shot, he needs to shoot more.

Not having Jagr, and the other teams focusing their defense around stopping him contributed to him not putting up the same amount of points. He needs to adjust to the increased focus opponents are putting on him, and find a way to contribute and be effective in other ways.

I would not expect him to score like crazy on the same pace throughout the season. He will go on a scoring slump sooner or later and opposing teams will focus on shutting him down.

So far I'm not worried.

He was pretty much shut down. That's what happens when your other lines are struggling and teams can concentrate on your top line.

Good thing is the last few games (even though we lost one) the other lines have been helping out.

Great video.

As I watched it, though, I coudln't help but notice how many of his goals would be considered "weak" by the Bryz Haterz Brizgade here.

Of special note is the one at 5:45 where Giroux scores from out between the circles and the goalie was like out of position and totally showed no heart or lateral movement and stuff.

It is carbon copy of Lacavalier beating Bryz a few games ago except in this case it isn't Bryz it's MAF so we'll hush on the weak goal stuff and just say Giroux made a great play such a great play that the video creator showed it thrice

But when Bryz got beaten from there by a first ballot hall of famer well that was weak and 8 1/2 more years of this??? et cetera ad nauseum

As for Giroux I haven't noticed him out of sorts. No one goes wire to wire like a demon, the season is too long.

So do you think that Bryz has been good this year?
