And our veterans delivered, Nemeth was a beast, Klefbom as well, Brodin and Granberg played really well. Sundström, Larsson, Nordström really stept up these last few games.

Must say Renberg really improved since the group final against Russia, heck you could almost confuse him with Wikegård in OT today.

Also very glad for Rönnberg and Tommy Boustedt. Was great seeing them celebrate, well deserved boys!

What a man play by Nemeth to set up the goal, just overpowered the Russian. Then what a move by Zibby to make in such a clutch situation.

I really hope they win Bragdguldet.

Unless the football team wins at the Euros I don't see how they can't.

If not Anja Pärson wins one of the fifty trillion different competitions in whatevering.

Remember Tre Kronor not winning bragdguldet in 2006 even though they won both the Olympics and the World Championship.

Eugh, Anja Pärson... I'm so tired of her. These guys are definitely bragdguldet-worthy, let's hope they get it.

For reference; chokes = snakes, tournament = plane.

Yeah, that's not gonna happen.

Remember OG/WC 2006? Forsbergs -03? Lidströms -02?

Swedish hockeyplayers seemingly have no place in Swedish sports history.

Never really cared about bragdguldet, such a joke anyways. They will just give it to a skier who happened to have a good race the right day.

I know about the previous disappointing selections, 2006 was complete madness, but now they have the chance to set things right! And this team is just so lovable.

Bizarre how hockey players can't seem to win it, given how big the sport is back home.

Amazing that it was this crop that took it hope this shuts up all the debbie downers here always crying how the juniors choke, it's tough competition, deal with it.

Such a great effort by the boys i wager we're gonna wanna trade future star-loaded teams for this hard working character team

What U20 gold means for Sweden

Quote:
“It means a lot for us,” said Christer Englund, the President of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and IIHF Council member. “First of all we can go on with our development program we have had for eight years.”
Quote:
“I also hope that our juniors who play in the elite teams will get more ice time. Now we can see that they are at a top level and can easily play in our Elitserien,” he said. “That’s also an important key to developing the players.”
Quote:
“This gold medal is my happiest moment,” Englund said. “I’ve been in the federation for many years. We won the gold medal in Turin at the 2006 Olympics and in Riga [at the 2006 IIHF World Championship], but this is the gold medal I’m most happy about.”

During this tournament one thing became even more clear too me. Aftonbladet shoudlnt be writing about hockey. I wonder how many swedes they have made belive that J-20 is called småkronorna. They are Juniorkronorna god dammit.

J-18 = Småkronorna.

How hard can it be to get it right. Ros has been costantly corrected about this on twitter to but he doesnt even give a ****...

Personally I don't think they should be writing about anything. Although they do a good job at whining on equality/feminism issues.

This performance goes beyond words. I'm sad to say I miised most of it because I was abroad. Whenever people say "this is one of the weakest teams ever" they perform and when the team is stacked, I'm talking JWC, WHC or OC they usually underperform. Weakest teams FTW!!!
