The most hilarious thing is we have had record setting warm weather here pretty much all winter - until tomorrow

It's going to be almost 50 today, tomorrow? Closer to zero

Looks like I have some replying to do.
Great timing, just as real winter weather has decided to arrive. It's been very warm (for Winnipeg) but that is about to change. Welcome anyway.

Love how amazing winnipeggers can be.
I had to look up MLCC lol. I don't think alchohol will be in short supply on this trip.

(when I said MLCC I mean the liquor store on the arrivals floor of the airport. Close to baggage carousel, you can't miss it)

The inn at the forks also has a shuttle from the airport to your hotel, so that will help you a bit as well.

Definitely be able to help you out if you have any other questions as well, as I'm a season ticket holder, employee of the airport, hockey fan, and a friendly manitoban.
Really appreciate the offer. I have this jacket that I'm bringing. I'm hoping with layers, some gloves and my Sharks Touqe that it will be enough. I'm guessing thermal underwear with some jeans should be fine? I literally have never been anywhere with a "-" anything temperature lol:

My Cousin is an idiot and he thinks he'll be fine with his light jacket. I can't make the man be warm. I can see a trip to a clothing store while we're there for him lol.

There are lots of good jackets for sale at the Jets Gear store. They even come with very nice logos.

These guys are located about one block away from MTS Centre, just across the street.

Spicy offered us loaner jackets and my Cousin is all "Yeah, I'll probably be fine." So I have no sympathy for him if he gets cold. Stubborn stubborn man.

On a side note, I've got to remember to turn data off on my phone when we get there. Data roaming rates for me in Canada are outrageous....like $3 appx to load a simple web site on the browser.

I even work for Sprint/Ericsson down here and we don't get any special discounts or anything on that.

Even though we are two countries, we're both part of the same essential phone system for North America. Just people being greedy I guess.

You know, might not be a bad idea to meet up with some of the HFboarders for a beer....

Roaming rates for Canadians in the US are just as ridiculous.

Tell him to put on his jacket and curl up in the deep freezer for 20 minutes. He might change his tune.
It has been abnormally warm here lately, though...

I believe one of the other posters will be joining us pre-game as well I would be down with the Tavern for sure!!

By the way Bryan they are re-opening the river path at the forks tomorrow for skating (due to the weather temp dropping) and they rent skates right by your hotel at the forks so tell your cousin to layer up a bit and get at it!!

Seriously though it is a good way to get into the swing of things pre-game

If you have a newer phone the preset should be data off when roaming. What kind of phone do you have?

I have an Infuse and know that it shuts over the air data off but remains on for wifi.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (Epic Touch 4G) with Sprint. I leave the data roaming option on down here because it's included in my plan price.

*EDIT: Nevermind, you're right. I didn't realize that there were Roaming and International roaming options together.

for a 7:30 game you usually need to have someone there around 4/430 in order to ensure you grab a table....last couple times i arrived at 5:30 and the place was already packed....same goes with the Boston Pizza in City Place.

That would be good HC! Mike and Bryan will need to come out of their (potential) skate unscathed but a pre-game at the Tavern might be the plan. bigplay41 I have not been to the Tavern before a game will they let partial groups hold a table (example 4 of us hold a table of 8) if we are there at 4:00 to 4:30. I know most of the places around the MTS centre work on a policy of needing most of your party in place to hold the table?
