Via Oilers Twitter

“@NHL_Oilers: Jordan Eberle's MRI results indicate his injured knee will keep him out of the #Oilers lineup for 2-3 weeks”

Any more info? Strain, sprain, hyper-extension, locking kneecap, partially torn something-or-other?

Sorry that's all we have so far. I know, not much to go by.

I'll update if we find out more!

Yeah I'm sure they will probably say on Oilers Lunch or on Gregors show.

In the new NHL you aren't going to get this. Shocked that they didn't go with the upper body injury angle that so many teams use.

Best possible outcome given it's a knee injury.

You're confusing the Oilers org with the NHL. The Oil almost never share anything. Almost any other team and you hear what the injury is and even the rehab process. How many times have you heard about high ankle sprains, shoulder separations, charleyhorses, back spasms, sprained wrists, etc. Plenty. Hell, when Teubert went down in the rookie camp after having his face caved in and it was clear he wouldn't start with the big club and also that he was concussed (based on how he just black-out buckled on the punch), they refused to utter even "concussion-like symptoms" until 2 weeks later or so.

Let's make it a solid 3 weeks, 4 if needed. No reason to have him back until he is absolutely 100%.

Sprained knee..just tweaked it. Jordan Eberle on his knee injury. Hopes to get in lineup before the All-Star break

He'll re-injure it in the All-Star game, and then be out for the season.

2-3 weeks isn't too bad, could've been a lot worse.

That is how a lot of teams are doing things. It's been like that for the past few years. Teams will call a concussion an upper body injury.

Ya, big exhale. Pretty much means it is nothing. It is pretty clear the oilers are being over cautious with the kids (which they should). This sounds like a injury that if a vet had in a playoff run would probably miss one game and be back. Guys tweek their knees all the time in the playoffs and don't miss a game.

I doubt he goes to the all star game now. Our last game before the break is the 24th, 14 days from now.

So I would imagine his first game back for him and RNH will likely be after the All-Star game.

It's odd, I got a sprained knee on the exact day Eberle did.

My body must have a direct link with his. I must preserve myself at all costs.

I don't buy it... this wreaks of a classic Oiler's misdiagnosis to me. I'll bet money he doesn't play a game in the month of January.

Not the oilers don't share anything post again. ALL teams do it. Just look at the injury list lower body, upper body, bs

Pretty sure the private clinic he went to would of made the diagnosis and not the Oilers doctors?

Quick! Buy a bubble! Equip yourself with the best training equipment available, and get to work! This is your calling.
