2-3 weeks is good news. I want to see Eberle back in action, I just hope he's 100% when he comes back.

Such a bold prediction considering there is only a hair over 3 weeks left in this month.

Players on other teams get misdiagnosed all the time (re: Pronger). It's only that Oiler fans go bat**** crazy when it happens.

The prognosis sounds about right given what we witnessed. It's the outcome I expected (and predicted). If it was a worse injury, he would not have gotten up from it without a stoppage in play, a la Jordan Staal (MCL, four to six weeks):

Wow, you're really going out on a limb there! 21 days left in the month.

I bet you wish your wallet had a direct link to his as well...

Wouldn't that amount to two to three weeks?

He probably wants to try to play for the Oilers during the All Star game but I think it's best to sit him out those extra days. Send Hall as his replacement.

It's probably best all 3 of these kids get a 3-4 week break in that mid season'ish anyways. Getting these kids their minutes to go with another lottery pick to help them next year, was probably the goal since before training camp started. At this one booby prize per year pace, this could take forever.

We should be firmly in last place by the time he gets back.

Yeah, but the last game before the All-Star break is January 24th. Granted the first game back is on the 31st so really you are banking on a single game with that comment.

Now I should mention that Eberle said on his interview that he hopes to be back before the all-star game but wants to be cautious.

Y'know before these kids were getting injured, they were playing ~17 mins/game. Then people on here were like "why play horc 22 mins/game, play the kids more!" And now that they're injured, everyone's like "it's good for them to get a break, fatigue man.."

Columbus and Anaheim keep on losing too (not to mention Calgary). It's not a guarantee that our upcoming losing streak isn't matched or exceeded (in the epicness of the fail of course) by those teams.

I honestly don't understand the logic of Oiler fan...

Team says player will be out 3-4 weeks
Fan A - "I can't believe they are resting him longer than he needs.. He should be back in 2 weeks"
Fan B - "Those idiots should let him rest 6 weeks... We have nothing to play for and we need him to heal..."
Fan C - "Our medical staff is terrible.. They didn't know how long an injury would be the instant it occured...

The life of an Oiler fan....

The Oilers are a lot better than most teams when it comes to disclosing injuries. I can't think of a single time this season or last that they used upper body or lower body.

Read their injury report right now:

Big difference though. Ebs didn't get his injury by tripping while carrying out the garbage.
