I think Lavy has been smart the way he plays Couts....He seems to be trying to keep him some what fresh for the LOOOOOOOOOONG season run to get to the play offs..Plus he puts in hard minutes on PKs etc...He is really starting to show some mad skills and tremendous patience with the puck....Reminds me of a young Bobby Clarke in quite a few ways.
-Jagr still doesn't look 100%.
-Schenn had a nice hit and a goal!
-Bob was great.
--Anyone else see Bob wink at the ref?
-PP was awful tonight.
-We absolutely could have gotten a pick for Nodl. Giving him away for free was downright stupid.
As for Couturier, I'm fine with his ice time. Rationing it is a good idea, and it keeps him effective. If you play him harder his quality of play might suffer. Lavi is doing a good job developing him.
Down in the basement, I've got a Craftsman lathe. Show it to the children when they misbehave.
lavy said they looked good in the first period and he was overall happy with the performance.... hmmmmm maybe he was watching another game on his i phone or maybe he's lost his edge... i remember this guy would say he saw things he didn't like when we would win a game 4 to1 and now he seems tranquilized.
does anybody else notice the change in offense from lavy's first year to now? that relentless forecheck that grinds teams down seems to be replaced with a very pass heavy try to razzle dazzle style of play, has lavy adjusted bc of the talent level or are they just not working as hard?
So, only one goal against...isn't that like a shut-out for us???
Seriously though Bob was awesome! No other way to put it...came up with big saves when needed and the one that got in wasn't a softie. Actually if I remember correctly it was on a powerplay and he stopped two huge shots before deflecting to an open player.
And I went the whole game without cursing Lilja's name once!
