your point 1) at least you acknowledge it

your point 2) huh ? how am I ignorant ? no one knew how bad it was until the trade came ? so how can you say know anything now ? thats my point. stop being naive.

its my personal opinion that the new CBA wont help teams like PIT and NSH.

we kne they couldnt afford to resign lang to what he was asking, so that was about 3M off the payroll already. Kasper was traded freeing up 1.5M. so thats 4.5M off the payroll w/ only minimal salary increases by other players. so considering, youre looking at about 3.5M-4M shaved off the payroll by the start of next season. plus, we had contracts expiring at the end of the year taking up sapce like Daigle, Vujtek, Wilson, Jonsson, Pushor and Laukanen totaling about 5M combined. we figured by the money they would save on those guys they would be able to afford him at least for the moment. however, that ended up not being the case, andw e found out the Pens werent inline to break even like the year before, but instead were losing money fast with no playoff hopes to help the losses. with a smaller payroll, many figured finances would be about the same as the year before which wasnt the case. not to mention the managment wouldnt even mention the R word. s it was a lot worse than we thought.

For the sake of argument, let's just see how this one looks. Lets see how hard the hype machine is working.

To Carolina:

G Marc-Andre Fleury

To Pittsburgh:

C Eric Staal
3rd Round Pick in 2004

Let's see what kind of response this gets.

well, we had to swap 2nd rounders and give up Mikael Samuelsson, so if you get him back and swap 2nds, we have a deal.

His trdae value isn't near as high as most pens fans think. No matter how you put it goaltening market is still weak. I would pay more to get Staal or Horton then to et Fleury.
Cuz you still have Brodeur for the next 8 seasons or so.

2) they signed him knowing full wel the will most likely owe him 4M by the end of the year. plus, in those few eyars, Straka could be gone freeing up 4.5M which could go to fleury.

3) we could just let him sit and not sign him, and then you can sign him away and give us your next 5 1st round picks.

either way, you're post is unintellegent and wrong. not to mention i recall a certain canadian team that only a few years ago was in much the same position and ended up turning it around, making profit and being a contendor.

Someone needs a humour detector.

this is just for fun,

make one insane package to send to Pittsburg to aquire Marc-Andre Fleury. The guy's 18 and leads the league in save percentage. he has a 1.95 GAA on a team like the Pittsburg Penguins. We all know he probably won't be traded now but it's not impossible. Patrick Roy was traded, heck Wayne Gretzky was traded....

Here's my package ...

Mike Comrie, Tommy Salo, Alexei Semenov, 1st Rounder

for

MA Fleury

What would you guys trade from your respected teams?
Havlat, Phillips, Prusek
(Sens fan!!!)

most logical.......to FLA for Luongo, Weiss, and a d-man(not bouwmeester)

or to Colorado(heh heh) Tanguay, Skoula, and Sauve

Fleury, on the other hand, has played about 15 games and has won two Stanley Cups. What I forgot to mention was that those two Cups were won on Mario's kids' Playstation2 while he was babysitting.

Sounds pretty good if you ask me

I made MA Fleury on 2k4, and he was a 99 as a 20 year old.

Although Dallas would have absolutely no reason to do this, but this is what I would offer if I was a GM.........
