It's kind of annoying at this point, to be honest. Lol.
Cally's move was actually different tonight. He's been slowly infusing more and more skill into his game. It hasn't been perfect, but the poor guy appears to have no backhand.

I like Artie's move.

Actually he makes great passes on his back hand. Last season against Boston in that big game at the end of the season. Same game where Chara blasted one off his foot. Cally found Dubi wide open in front of Thomas with a beauty of a pass from the off wing. At The Winter Classic. From behind the goal, tape to tape to Dubi who shoots it off Bob's pad. Richards knocks in the rebound.

Good game. Great win. And some stellar goal tending. Highly entertaining and the type of game that should have ended in a tie.

Boyle cannot play on a line that is expected to score; he destroys too many scoring chances with his bad hands and weak vision. Hagelin was awesome last night and Feds had a strong game. Boyle cycled the puck well but when the puck gets into a scoring area he is inept. He's a 4th liner!!!

Eh what? It should've ended with 2 points to Rangers in regular time. But yeah, fun game!!!

...you're right. All of Cally's back passes are these pinpoint backhands. He never shoots off of it though. Sometimes when he's battling in front of the net i guess.

Also, another game in which we couldn't finish a Western Conference team in regulation.

The trend continues.

Hank, Feds, Step, Gabby (for redemption and PURE SPEED! on the penalty shot)

On a side note... we live in Ohio and ALWAYS get the opposing feed. Streamed the game on the computer and hooked it up to my 55 inch TV and got the MSG feed for the first time. To be able to see the interviews, listen to Mike Keenan, and generally get good info on the Rangers was pretty damn solid.

Thought the Rangers pretty much dominated the game, though they could have stood to get more quality chances. That's probably because of Phoenix's team defense though

Smith also played a really good game and made a bunch of great saves to keep Phoenix in it

only 3 teams in the East have more wins against the WC than us, Philly, Pittsburgh, and Bawstun. Each have 1 more win than us.

No team in the NHL has more points than us
No team in the NHL has a better winning percentage than us
No team in the NHL has more ROW wins than us
In the East only the Atlantic division has 4 teams currently in the top 8. The Rangers have the best record in the East (and the NHL) despite having to play against the hardest division in the East. The Rangers are 9-1 against that Atlantic division, next best record? 4-3-1 by Philly.

is this team perfect? No. But nitpicking their ability to win regulation games against the Western Conference (they have a good winning record against the west) is kinda petty imho.

Mike Smith put on an absolute show out there. Good for him he was headed towards obscurity looks like he's going to stay in the NHl for awhile. Hags was the best Ranger. His skating just caused havoc for Pho trying to get the puck and do anything with it.

Stralman with second most defense minutes.

Not a fan of the shootout but that was one of the best I've seen in person. Quite entertaining

Hagelin had a good game, I dont think he's at his best playing with the guys hes playing with. Hes forced to play a grinding game on every shift with those guys because they can't hang with his speed. he can play the boards well, but, imho, i'd love to see him as the other bookend on a line with Gabby and Stepan. 2 speedsters and a guy who can get them the puck? Would love to see it. Though the board game may suffer since AA did all the heavy board lifting on that line.

Boyle was embarrassingly bad with the puck. There is no way he is going to score 5 goals this season. He just sucks.

Although, he did work hard and make some big hits and a good screen.

Who cares about Western Conference teams? I don't.

I heard Maloney talking how the Rangers haven't seen the Hawks or Detroit yet.

Why is that important? We're in the East not the West. Worry about those teams when/if you're in the Finals.

Girardi had a horrible night. The good part of this team it didn't matter. It would last season, but not now. This team rides it success on Lundqvist's back. Hank outplayed even Smith. Incredible.

I disagree. Hank had a great game, and that Phoenix goal was a well-placed shot for a guy who was wide open. Hank definitely kept us in the shootout.

But Smith was incredible. He definitely deserves to be recognized.

I was kinda pissed that the game even went to OT. During the 2nd period it was just turnover after turnover. They were playing at each other's level and I was waiting for someone to step up

Eh I don't know about Hank outplaying Smith. Smith was on his game and held his composure throughout, especially during Gabby's penalty shot. I think they played pretty evenly. Aucoin had Hank beat on that wrister too.

Game could've easily been 5-0 after the 1st...

We do that to a lot of teams. Credit where it's due my friend. Smith had a career game against us, culminating with the Gabby save on the penalty shot in OT.

What trend? Last time we played then we won in regulation. Albeit with .1 seconds left.
