That he will never reach. What you see is what you'll get with Brule.

That said, it's still a good pick-up.

You can't rule anything out, hell Matt Read is older than him. He did have 40 points in 60 games with Edmonton.

He was also playing with Penner during his career year. He was definitely just along for the ride.

With that said, I like Brule. He can play anywhere in the line up. He also brings an effort every game. He doesn't always deliver but he appears to be working hard. Hopefully it works out with the Yotes because it was obvious that Oilers management was done with him. It was just a waste of talent having him here.

Steve MacIntyre is on waivers today, per Renaud Lavoie.

Anyone see MacIntyre getting claimed? Or is he WBS bound?

I don't think so. He's cleared already this year hasn't he? Probably the best fighter in the league, but destroying Ivanas pretty much ended his fighting career.

No, he never cleared, he was sent down on a conditioning assignment. Yeah he's the best fighter in the league and I agree, after he beat Ivanas, nobody wants to fight him. He's tried this year to get into a scrap with players in the NHL, nobody wants to. When he went to WBS before I think he fought twice.

MacIntyre is too good at his specialized job that he can't even do it. No one is willing to fight him (literally: 0 fights as a Penguin) and he's utterly worthless when he's not fighting.

My bad. I said this many times Mac's because fault is he doesn't get mad. While in Edmonton we had nothing to lose he should've grabbed someone and pounded the crap out of them for taking liberties with our players. So what that he'd cost us a 7 minute PK, at least there would be fear. At least then you could justify him playing 3 minutes a night.

Exactly. It's a shame, but there really isn't anything he can do about it.

Anyone else read the thread title "PIT Steve MacIntyre" as "RIP Steve MacIntyre?" Heart skipped a beat, there.

Hope the Canucks take Big Mac and tell him that we'd kill of any instigator penalties.

Would Edmonton want him back? It seems to be he would be a better option as an enforcer over Darcy Hordichuk.

Eh.

The Canucks aren't really in the business of employing guys who can't manage even 5 minutes of ice per game. They need toughness, but they need toughness that can at least play some marginal NHL hockey.

you could tie Hordichucks legs together and he would still be a better hockey player than Mac. Good to see that a good guy like Mac got to make some NHL money for a few years, but I doubt he will be needed in the NHL anymore.

Oh, no doubt about it Hordichuk is a better hockey player than MacIntyre, I'm saying as an enforcer, he would be better than Hordichuk.

This really isn't the case though. Better fighter for sure, but other than that Mac is useless.

Finally, Mac should be playing not sitting in the damn press box all the time. Hope he tears the A up.

If the Oilers wanted Mac they would've re-signed him when they had a chance.

Konopka, Godard, Orr and now BigMac I*'m sure with our *****hockey style Holland is going to pass again on the best fighter on the market which is such a shame.

If some teams are serious about getting tougher (Sabres, Nucks, Leafs?) they'd better put in a claim this guy is FEARED.

Pens are making a huge mistake here hope it bites em back. Its a shame seeing all the great guys gone and rats taking over our beloved game, sure the greenpeace crowd will be happy, die hard hockeyfans on the other hand sad.

Come back soon Smack this league needs you.

No surprise Big Mac got waived. He's a horrible player and he's so slow that he can't catch upto people to fight them.

This so called horrible skater still made it to the NHL so I guess he can skate better than everyone on this board. He may not be as good as some other NHL players but still compared to us I'm sure he is lightyears ahead.

How about giving these guys some respect? Rather see some pests waived instead of fan favourites.
