What Burke didn't tell us is that the trade already went down. He traded a pudding with a guy in accounting for snickers bar.

Must be Bourdon for Schenn...

What? A couple of 22 year olds.

Hockeycentral mentioned 5 potential targets.

Doug Maclean:
Van Reimsdyk <--thinks Schenn would be a fit
Ryan <--doubts this thinks Hiller would have to come back as well

Brad May:
Rene Bourque
Paul Stastny
Tuomo Ruutu

What about a 3 way

To TB Cory Schneider - this fixing their goaltending issues with putting a young stud in there.

To TO Brett Connolly - Brings in a young highly offensive player.

To Van Luke Schenn - Brings in a young right handed D man.

Ryan makes no sense for the Leafs. JvR does (2nd line duties) but I doubt Philly trades him. Bourque? Doubt it.

Stastny has underperformed for two years in a row, he's not playing better than any of our centers right now..

Tuomo Ruutu is an interesting one, big bodied guy that probably shouldn't cost a lot.

I just hope he gets a big body 2nd line player or a good 3rd liner and if he's going for a big fish, I'd much rather see him overpay and outbid for Getzlaf than go for Ryan.

I would hate to move JVR for stay home Schenn but you never know with Homer. imo Flyers can get stay home for a lot cheaper and that's gods honest truth

Gleason for instance (available per multiple rumors). Very comparable player and won't cost as much.

The flipside is he's young and signed to a reasonable 3.6M for the next 4 seasons which gives Philly a young defensive d-man that can match Coburn's legnth of contract and can play in the top 2 pairing for a little while.

1. Why would the Leafs want Hodgson when we have Kadri and Colborne

2. Schenn just signed 5 years, he aint goin nowhere.

Ok.. Lets say Gleason is worth two 2nds or even a 1st round pick. Flyers trade for him and sign him to a deal. He brings the same elements Schenn does. Even better because he is already established. Schenn, as good as he is he is overpaid right now. Flyers end up keeping JVR.

It's definitely going to be a good trade, IMO. However, I don't think it will involve Schenn unless it is a serious impact player coming our way. Not to mention, he is exactly the type of player we would need in the Playoffs.
