Get it done.
A game of musical chairs or checkers isn't going to change much when your have a flawed offense! That's right, even the freakin Debbies have 7 players with 10 or more goals. We lost a game(bound to happen, no?) And we may even lose both ends this wkend against a team we stink against(Toronto) and a place we stink playing in(Montreal). What then, will the "fire Torts" posters crawl out of the woodwork?? We gotta correct our mistakes and move on, that's it and that's all!

No stars tonight. I really hate watching shutouts.

Put it in the rearview and score some ****ing goals this weekend.

No. Just no.
Couldn't quote it through clicking "quote", but if you forget that they won 10 of 11, how was that not an embarrassment? They got shutout by the 27th ranked defense and the only team in the NHL not to get a shutout. They feel apart in the 3rd period. Terrible game, unbecoming of a top team.

Last season, Vancouver was the team to beat. Not losing in regulation in like 20 games.

We beat them in regulation, 1-0.

We all agree with your nitpicking BUT the truth is our lack of a top shelf offense is bound to rear it's ugly head every now and then. I've said it before countless times and I'll say it again, we desperately need another legit goal scorer and possibly a pp point guy who can get the lousy puck on net with authority. I don't give a crap if we beat the Bruins all four times in the regular season; a playoff series vs. them would be a horse of a different color because as presently constituted, we don't have the horses to handle the Bruins in a best of seven playoff series.

I believe if they want to compete in the post season they must add a top 6 wing. Regular season's one thing, but when it comes down to a 7 game series Rangers lack top 6 scoring
A great post! One thing; do you realize how much a small coffee costs nowadays at dear old Timmy Hortons? I said it before and I'll say it again, WW is useless and can't go to that proverbial beer league in Europe fast enough to suit me. We gotta stay the course, play our cards close to the vest, see what's out there prior to the trade deadline and make our move without canibalizing our roster and prospects. There is nothing more to be said about a lousy game tonite resulting in a shutout loss.

How was Wolski useless? Torts barely played him in the 3rd, he was great in the 1st, and the whole team sucked in the 2nd.

I can't fathom it.

Our top lines weren't getting the job done today. Gaborik was a non-factor. Torts wasn't lying when he said Dubinsky makes Richards better... outside of a few shifts in the 1st period and 1 shift in the 3rd period, I barely noticed him. I'd be shocked if Anisimov didn't start the next game on the 3rd line.

Not sure what anything from last year has to do with anything from this year. We don't exist in a Vacuum.

2 regulation goals in their last 9 periods.
Only once have they come back when a team gets a two goal lead on them.
What they've done up to here is great. But big boy time starts now. They don't hand out playoff seeds after game 41. Too many stretches where scoring is becoming a problem after stretches where it wasn't. Too many disappearing acts. Doesn't bode well down the line. Need to come back strong in the next game, show they belong where they are.

I'm already past this one.

But damn, I want them to beat the Leafs. Maybe most of you don't know what it's like for us Canadian guys when the Rangers come out second best to the Leafs or the Habs.

Go Rangers.

Did anyone earlier in the thread post Craig Anderson's career numbers against the Rangers? I feel like he has had an unusually large amount of success against the Rangers in his career given his overall skill set.

Hey, it's just one game. Rangers until the end had the puck most of the game, Ottawa really only had a very few scoring opportunities until the very end when the Rangers were pressing hard, and even that goal was the result of a bad giveaway. That said, Rangers do far too much grinding with little to show for it, and they have far too many guys (Prust, Mitchell, Boyle, Anisimov sometimes) who couldn't put the puck in an empty net from five feet away. Hagelin created about twenty scoring opportunities tonight, needs someone to bury the chances he creates so I don't have to hear that Craig Anderson is Jacques Plante and Ken Dryden rolled into one.

Have one goal in two games against teams that aren't great defensively, and the power play is worse than atrocious - can we decline penalties?

That said, this is a very good team. Agree with the majority that they are one legitimate scorer away from being a real contender

It was a pretty cagey game.

Whoever scored first was going to have a big advantage.
