Cole I would have been OK with a little bit, he's healthy this year & Ottawa is only 30 mins away, but Price should be relaxing on a couch for 3 days. This whole game is stupid anyway, there should be like 10 Sens players, it's all for the hosting City anyway.
I get why people dislike him going but really, it amounts to a light practice in terms of workload and Carey has seemed to genuinely enjoy it. I'm not concerned with that, I don't watch or care about the game.
They all do. Nothing new. Thing is, I think he will pass. Don't be surprised if he gets 'injured' before the game. He wants a break too I think, and his mind is not up for the game, with the way his very mediocre team is playing in front of him. Me guess he wants to warm up his tush down south for 3-4 days.

So the choice was between Cole and Price. Cole has been amazing, but Price has been good most of the season as well. There are a lot more good forwards than their are goalies in the Eastern Conference, so it's not hard to see why Price goes over Cole.

I don't have a problem with Price being selected. He'd be about 4th on my list of habs this year though, not knocking him, I just think a few guys have been better.

If Carey Price didn't deserve to go, which goalies should've been chosen above him? Thomas and Lundqvist were locks, but after that it was betwee him, fleury, theodore and vokoun, and he's clearly better then vokoun and theo is injured. Between him and Fleury, Price should go since he is on a much worse team then pittsburgh.
I don't think he's clearly better than Vokoun, but, I won't argue the selection.

I dont think some of you get that Price has not been as elite as last year but Price is still a good player playing average like everyone else on this team.... that being said Price has also started to become a house hold name making his 3rd apperance to the allstar game kind of like ovie does he deserve it this year... no but heis a house hold name I expect Price to be at many more all star games in his career not that they mean anything but anyways congrats I guess
Price has played well for most of the season and he's the best choice here. It's no surprise he got the nod. Yes, it's been up and down but he was untouchable for a long stretch and there have been times where his team has completely quit on him in the last few weeks. He deserves to be there.

I don't remember saying anything of the sort. Do you think other goalies with better numbers never face these similar circumstances, just curious? Is this a situation limited to the habs and Carey Price. I wasn't knocking him, he's got a good case for 3rd in the East. I don't think it's clear cut, but more a case of the habs needing to be represented and the Goalie position being the most suitable position to be represented with. Cole/plekanecs/gorges have been the habs best players imo, but they are outclassed in their positions, where as Price hasn't been.
It's about being a real all-star, and he's ours. Cole hasn't been an all-star, he's been good. Not all-star. Price will be invited to those for 10 years to come, because he's attained that level according to the league. He's a name.
I haven't read anything past that post but no one, let me repeat for clarity, NO ****ING ONE, has been playing at an all star level. You're an experienced fan, do you see any good performances from the habs ? Come the **** on. Not one single ****ing hab should be nominated for the all star game.
Also, I think if we have to nominate someone at all costs it probably would be a close call between Cole and Price. Cole would be a clearer choice but he was not great at the start, and he hasn't been great lately. But same thing with Price really.
Anyone who thinks Price is clear cut choice is blind for one reason or another.
