Thomas Vanek to LA

What would it take?

penner would have to be going back to fit vanek under the cap.

You sure? I think a package around Brown could work.

That's not enough :/ Vanek is our 1# forward and imo it would have to be overpayment if they would let him elsewhere.

Nah Brown is a great player, but Vanek is really the only elite player we have. You might be able to come up with a package that would be fair value, but in the end we'd be trading the best player in the deal, which is usually not the way to go. Realistically the only way I see Vanek being moved is for a top 6 center.

Kopitar, Brown, 1st for Vanek and Roy.

Yes, LA fans won't like it, but if you want to know what kind of payment would get Regier listening, that would probably be it.

You are severely underrating Vanek as a point producer. Couple that with thin production from the rest of the supporting cast this year, excepting Pominville, and they can't afford to deal him unless they're getting back what they give up: Potent scoring.

Realistic proposals for any team's best player/skater are dicey, particularly if the plan isn't to give up equal value.

The right answer for Buffalo is Kopitar — dependable PPG talent — and the discussion ends right around there.

Bad trading partners. Buffalo would want Kopitar, and that defeats the purpose for LA.

Yeah we are sure, we don't want Brown for Vanek. Your not getting our franchise player for 2nd liners.

We get it. The Sabres are sucking hard this year. Stop trying to vulture off the one of only bright spots on the team. Also, spare change for a dollar trades too

Can't see Buffalo giving up Vanek. They don't have enough scoring as it is, and he is by far their best scoring forward.
