Torts says don't read into today's lines, he didn't assign colored jerseys, just told them to form lines for drills. We'll see.

It's time for Stepan Richards Gaborik

That line looked elite in the short time they spent together, and it was while the entire team was still recovering fro Europe. It needs another look. We can still have plenty of depth. Put our three best offensive players together and let them find some synergy. Maybe it's time to revisit the pack line again when dubi comes back.

I hope so. If he wants to move things around and Dubi is out then fine but keep AA in the top 2 lines, yea he is struggling but the other options are poopy

I don't understand why they don't try Hagelin with Anisimov. All of those chances that Hagelin and Fedotenko created last night, the ones Boyle could never finish, that's where Artie's skill would play a big factor. I also think it might be time to try Richards and Gaborik together again, perhaps even try moving Callahan to the LW. Not permanently, but just for now. He's such a smart player that I doubt it would make much of a difference in his effectiveness. He's pretty good with passing off his backhand, too, as he routinely shows.

Anisimov may do well with Rupp and Feds. remember the miracle that was Shelley-Anisimov-Prust? I recall Anisimov saying how easy it was playing with them because they made so much room for him whereas on the Stepan-Gaborik line, it's his job to make room for the others. Would have preferred

What about -

Wolski - Richards - Gaborik
Dubinsky - Anisimov - Callahan
Hagelin - Stepan - Fedotenko
Mitchell/Rupp - Boyle - Prust

???

Give it some time

Stepan on the 1st PP Unit (with Richards & Del Zotto on the point)
Staal & Girardi 2nd pairing PP defense

kind of back to basics/square 1 as we thought at the beginning of the year...

Erm, Anisimov has SUCKED recently. He needed to be dropped from that line ASAP.

Prust on the "2nd line" is a ****ing joke. It's truly a disgrace. The only player who'd be worse in that position is Boyle. I'd rather have Rupp skating with Cally and Richards.

If Torts is really set on trying new lines...

Hagelin - Stepan - Gaborik (let them go speed crazy)
Wolski - Richards - Callahan (replace WW with Dubi when he gets back)
Rupp - Anisimov - Mitchell/Fedotenko
Prust - Boyle - Fedotenko/Mitchell

My $.02

But I guess we'll keep seeing Prust and Boyle playing over their heads.

(this post sounds like an overreaction, I understand we're still first in the conference, but if Torts is going to try new lines...I just don't see what he's trying to do here)

100% agree. I seem to remember there was a brief stretch a few years ago where Cally was clicking on the LW with Gomez for a bit. Either way, switch Rupp and F-tank and I like those lines.

Although I didn't like the combo when he put it together, the Hags, Boyle, Feds line has been the best line by far the past 2 games. You have to think that Boyle is eventually going to break through on to the score sheet. Why break this line up?

I don't think Boyle will, that's why I'd like to see Hagelin and Fedotenko with an offensively better center.

Torts already said not to pay attention to them. He's not going to burn the lines 'cause of one game.

I think we could use a reshuffle, but nothing drastic. Stepan/Gabby and Richards/Cally have shown to have pretty solid chemistry. I'd give this a shot:

Dubi/WW - Stepan - Gabby
Dubi/WW - Richards - Cally
Hagelin - AA - Feds
Rupp/Mitchell - Boyle - Prust

If we can't jump start that LW position, we're going to have to make a deal for some help.

Rupp on the 2nd line?

I like the lines just switch Rupp with a healthy Dubi or Feds.

Agreed. Arty gives Hags and Feds, who have been fantastic together, a guy who can set them up and score better then Boyle, but play just as good (IMO better) defense.

Also I don't know why you don't have Dubi there- i'd do Dubi-Stepan-Wolski before I put Rupp there.

Prust-Boyle-Rupp, demote Mitchell.

Also, and I know this is going to be unpopular, but i'd also do Hagelin-Anisimov-MZA.
