Datsyuk
I think we need a Datsyuk thread. Probably this should be a sticky one.
Maybe the moderators can move it.
Anyhow, I think we could/should post favourite moves and moments of Datsyuk.
Though there are numerous, here is my favourite move by Datsyuk.
At 2:12
VIDEO
The call by Thorne on that particular play is the definition of Datsyuk's career.
Quote:
Can you believe the move by Datsyuk, ohhhhhhhh mercy?
I think Datsyuk is one of the most exciting players to ever play the game. I am sure there are many who agree.
So go on and post your favourite moments/moves.

Datsyuk is one of a kind. I've never seen a player like him. Not that he's the best ever or anything, but when he's on the ice, you sure as hell know it. Amazing vision, unparalleled deking skill, relentless stick check and oh man, can he pass or what? Love Dats.
Basically a PPG Selke-caliber defense Centre. If he had better playoff record, he would be a sure fire Hall of Famer by now.

My thought was to choose one move/moment. My favourite move was that one in this particular game when he passed the puck off of the net to himself.

Whether he is the best player in the league or not is for a debate, but whether he is the most exciting player to watch, that's unquestionable. He is one of the most exciting players
ever . And therefor I think we need a thread where we can pick up his moves/moments.
Here is another one from this season

How can you save these?

He skates the same line, he starts the deke same way...
...and usually he turns it to forehand and shoots it for the left side...
..or sometimes he shoots straight from the backhand to the right side.
The goalies are just helpless.

I have never been a fan of shootouts, but Pavel is the reason to watch them. He is just phenomenal.

I like to start by saying NBC really needs to hire Gary Thorne. I'm not even sure if he's till with ESPN or not though. But either way.
And here's a great Dats moment.

There's gotta be someone who's had more highlight plays involving between-someone's-legs shots/passes (not counting goalies). Right?

This great move/pass only needs to be called by Gary Thorne.

That man is basically the reason I watch hockey. Games without Datsyuk almost seem dull to me now.

This is my new favorite thread. I feel extremely privileged to have become a Red Wings fan a 5-6 years before Datsyuk joined our team. And being able to watch his entire career, nearly every game, has been incredible.
He's the most exciting player to watch, in my opinion, ever... and each time he's on the ice I get a little smile on my face because I know he'll probably do something highlight reel worthy.

Penner was pancaked!
Datsyuk is the best reason to turn on an NHL hockey game.
There really ought to be NHL marketing campaigns built around what he does on the ice.
He's like Barry Sanders was for the Lions. Except he wins games and has won championship.

Did three laps around my house with my dog at top speed and yelling at the top of my lungs. I don't remember getting so ********* jacked after a goal. That whole game as off the chains and Pavel...Oh Pavel.

One of my favorites, he makes the Shark D look so effing stupid. 4 guys plus the goalie is on him and he just gives it away to Z to bank it into an empty net.
