Pavel Kubina

Will Pavel Kubina be available at the deadline if the Lightning are in the 11th-15th spot? He seems (statistically) like he is having a pretty good year - I've only seen 2-3 Lightning games this year - and he is the kind of player who would fit nicely on plenty of teams (RH shot, plays PP and PK)

$3.85m - pending UFA
Limited NTC

What are the terms of the NTC?
What would the price be?

I'm thinking that if he is made available there will be plenty of teams interested, which would drive the price up. What are Tampa's needs for next season? I'm guessing goalie + defense - are they interested in picks/prospects also?

Yeah, what Shello said. Kubina's been a defensive liability, I doubt he get more than a 3rd at the deadline.

Well, a 3rd is still a 3rd for a UFA who probably wont be back next year... and some people believe 2012 will be quite a deep draft.

I think even more might be offered by teams wanting the veteran D presence going into the playoffs.

I would be ecstatic with a 3rd and with some GMs going crazy at the deadline I wouldn't be that shocked with it.

Ill take pretty much anything for him at the deadline, even if we are somehow in the playoff race.

Hes not getting resigned and while he does bring some things, his speed, or lack thereof, is very hard to cope with.

He's probably worth a 3rd or 4th just because he's an experienced dman.

I will say after kubina came back from his injury combined with hedman getting injured. Kubina has been playing anywhere from 23-27 minutes and he has actually looked a lot better than he did in the beginning of the season where he was awful. I would say if Kubina can put up some more points and continue with what he is doing some desperate GM will offer a 2nd round pick but i would be happy with a 3rd or a prospect.

i say he goes for a fourth, though i still think teams wanting experienced D that can bring leadership and passion should sign McCabe instead of coughing up picks!

sure his play isnt where it was 5 years ago, but hes no more a defensive liability then most of the guys floating around the market have been this year, including kubina.

As per the OP, does anyone know the terms of his NTC?
