Columbus announces new multi-year partnership with sponsor

The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced a new multi-year corporate partnership between the National Hockey League franchise and Meyers Jewelers. The agreement designates the family-operated central Ohio jeweler as the Preferred Jeweler of the Blue Jackets.

The partnership is highlighted by name entitlement for the unique premium seating area known as the “Meyers Jewelers Jewelry Box.” This private box with four seats positioned directly between the home and visiting team benches puts fans in the middle of the game action.

In addition, Meyers Jewelers’ partnership includes a philanthropic component with presenting sponsorship of the Blue Jackets Foundation’s Valentine’s Day Teddy Bear Raffle, an in-game fundraiser that gives fans the chance to win teddy bears customized with Valentine’s Day voice messages from Blue Jackets players. Meyers Jewelers is enhancing the event by supplying a few exclusive grand prizes to accompany the bears, including a Breitling watch inscribed with Blue Jackets captain Rick Nash’s signature, a diamond pendant necklace, and a $100 gift card for Meyers Jewelers.
Cute idea with the premium seating naming.

Well, our local NHL team actually has many sponsors, all of whom seem to be happy with the arrangements to support our local NHL team. There's a sponsorship deal with Tim Horton's, which is generally very supportive not just of our NHL team, but many NHL teams. Of course, it goes without saying that Nationwide, which was vital to bringing an NHL team to Columbus in the first place, is very supportive of the NHL team in many ways. AEP just signed on with a long-term deal before this NHL season for our NHL team; that's in addition to re-upping with Time Warner Cable and OhioHealth, who are happy to support our NHL team.

So, despite what naysayers of our local NHL team may believe or propogate, our NHL team is actually doing well in terms of sponsorship. It's impossible to run an NHL team without sponsorship dollars coming in, and our NHL team is no exception.
