Lose to the Ducks at home like that and you've got issues. That Edmonton team is screwed from the ground up.

And we complain about how Lombardi built the team.

It doesn't help that they're without Gretzky and Kurri. Or as the unbiased fans know them, RNH and Eberle.

Rick DiPietro has a sports hernia and is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday.
So this season 8 games with 0.876 Sv%. Last season 26 games with 0.886 Sv%, 09/10 8 games with 0.900 Sv% and 08/09 season 5 games with 0.892 Sv%. Eight more years and it's all over!

I was young and stupid when that signing went through, and I still knew that it was bad then.

I guess Steven Stamkos didnt get the Mike Richards treatment last night, any one see the highlights with 6 mins left in the game one of the Capitals player hit Martin St Louis, and Stamkos came from far and rushed him and started punching him... mind you Stamkos wears a VISOR... guess what Stamkos got? only 2 mins for roughing.... DOUBLE STANDARD!!!

According to McKenzie, next year's Winter Classic will be Toronto vs. Detroit.... Oh joy...

At least, it is being held in Detroit.

It's understandable.

The "Big House" holds 115,000 people. The Maple Leafs will draw tons of Canadian fans to the game, a sell out is certain. The average ticket price for the 2012 Winter Classic was $489.

$489 x 115,000= $56,235,000

Each one of those 115K will probably spend another $100+ on souvenirs, food ect.

Wow that is a lot of $$$.

I think it was time to get a Canadian team in the winter classic. I think its safe to assume we will never see the Kings in one of these.

We may when their popularity/novelty begins to wane. Either that or both LA and Anaheim become contenders at once and sustain a rivalry. The technology excuses are bunk. They won't have a Ducks vs. Kings Winter Classic because they know they possibly won't sell out the stadium. If we had one in Vegas in 80 degree weather, we can certainly have one in SoCal.

I'm very disappointed in the NHL and NBC. Good for Toronto, but we all know the NHL is only doing this for money and Canadian viewers. It's the same teams over and over again. Nothing changes. Same teams get the Classic games, NBC games, Versus games... Detroit was already in a Classic. I mean ffs.

Detroit is destroying the hawks. Shots were 4-21 for Detroit in the first alone.

And there's the rub. I honestly don't know whether or not a stadium here would be filled with people to watch an outdoor game. Our best bet is to have a very heated rivalry with a Western squad who can get those kind of people out to watch a game.

Kings-Canucks at Dodger Stadium. Let's make it happen.

I'm pretty sure people would come and the stadium will sell out. NBC and the NHL are the problems here. They want money and they know they can't have a game in the west coast because it would need to start later. They aren't sure people would stay up and watch it which = less money.

I do agree that these tech excuses thrown out are a bunch of ********.

I won't be watching the next winter classic or 24/7 which saddens me because I really enjoyed both. I'm sick of Detroit and I'm sick of the same teams all the time get the nationally televised games.

What's wrong with that?

Revenues are shared in the NHL, so more $$$ is good for everyone.

I get tired of seeing the same teams all the time. Maybe I'm the only one, but it's really ****ing annoying.

They should have more than one game then, double down. Have one early on the east coast, and one later on the west coast. Best of both worlds. If they put a Canadian team on the west coast, like a Kings vs. Canucks matchup, there will be interest.

All Star goalie Howard is even worse puck handler than Quick. Check that Chicago goal.
