Tough to score the tying goal from the penalty box, eh Brenden?

2-1, game over.

We lose to Colorado, don't even get a freakin' loser point out of it.

Who's next?

Really got screwed by the refs in this one, I think it affected the outcome of this game in a big way. Can't ****ing believe Ryder blew that chance on top of it.

rough scheduling by the NHL but still, no excuses you cant afford to lose in regulation at home to a team your in a fight with for the 8 spot..

Can't expect Lehtonen and luck to carry them forever.
If they want to make playoffs, something has to happen.

I'd like to know why Ott was upset when Willie was drawing up the play. It looked like he disagreed and then moved down the bench to not even watch.

we really got screwed by the lack of effort in the 1st and second periods. It's pretty much a truth that officiating is uniformly terrible in all NHL games and both teams get ****ed out of numerous call every night. There is no consistency or clear standard of what is a penalty. It's just one of the conditions of the game at this point that nobody can help.

Then can help not getting only 1 shot in the 1st period by ****ing preparing for the game a bit harder and being ready to play.

Ugly game. Should have at least had a point. Defense played well considering, but they should have known they'd be tired for this and adjusted in w/e way they could to compensate for it. No excuse for only playing a 20 minute game.

That call in the 3rd that led to the GWG was ********, but the Stars special teams have been absurdly bad the past 10 games. PK gives up bad goals and the PP is nonexistant. Ryder misses a wide open net summarizes the night.

We really needed some points out of this game, we have a tough schedule coming up. This team isn't showing signs that its systematic play is going to take it to the playoffs in the last half of the season. Sure they got the SA and SF differential down, but what does it matter when your special teams have gone down the tube, and you play 50% of your games without any life?

We can't afford to lose games like this against teams like this. Colorado is a team almost completely full of underachievers and we lose to them.

Of course we got screwed by not having a good 1st and 2nd. Duh. Of course reffing in the NHL has been terrible, but this was just a gem of especially spectacular NHL officiating. And seriously, cut down on the melodrama a bit.

I also think if this game was played at 7 PM we'd have won. The lack of morning skate was very apparent. Its not an excuse for their horrible effort and special teams, but its definitely a factor.

Pretty sure he was pissed he wasn't out there for the opening faceoff.

You can kind of tell in these games that they absolutely don't have their legs under them, and even if the mind is willing the body just won't go. Maybe they should just get a quick hour skate before the game just to get it going a little. They looked like they just rolled out of bed and the reflexes and the muscles were still sleeping.

It's so bizarre to have a team that pulls out an epic win against LA who most consider to be a team on the upswing at this point, and then have a total stinker like this.

They need to string some wins together for sure, though. This win one lose one thing they have going isn't going to cut it.

Ryder looked terrible tonite..Why is Morrow on the PP??

Anyway- what is your opinion about Wadells game today?

He had 4 shots on goal, 2 blocked, 4 missed, a hit, 2 blocked shots, ad was 4/7 I think on the dott..

I thouht he was way better than Ryder, he should be ther instead of him..(in the last minute)..

It's incredibly discouraging that they can't seem to get a winning streak going. 2 game win streak is the only one I can even remember right now.

Ryder makes that open net shot 9 times out of 10.

Bigger issue is why can't Ott score on breakaways? That's 3 games in a row that he uses his speed and does nothing with it? Then he wonders why he gets benched on the last minute PP? He's getting top 6 time this year and he's on pace for <40 points, same as any other year.

I wasn't even surprised he didn't score, I would have had a heart attack if he did... And I'm too young for a heart attack...

He needs to do his usual 5 hole move, it's the only thing that works for him, and when they pick up on it just throw something else at them once they start cheating for it.

At some point Niewy has to do something about the PP. Whether its bringing in a PP specialist, removing Gulutzan from managing it in favor of another coach, or doing like LA did and having Modano be a special assistant. We'd easily be in the playoffs with even an average PP.

Are people really going to put Gully on the hot burner already? Have we already admitted the faults in our personnel? Do you seriously believe Gully is holding back the talent on this team?
