@NYP_Brooksie I see Newbury also got misconduct for abuse of officials in that game but think he got called up to NYR, if I'm not mistaken.

Brooks confirms too that he's heard Newbury is up.

Don't really see who else would have been an option.
Whoever they call up is only going to see 5 mins on the 4th line. Need someone with some toughness and jam, and the ability to cycle.
Not going to bring up Zuccarrello or JAM or Bourque. I guess Deveaux could have been a possibility. No reason to cut Christensen's 2 week conditioning short. He's useless on the 4th line.
Not expecting Newbury to play much, but they needed a body and he fits the role well.

The only thing that bugs me about this is that I had hoped Dubi would be absolutely ready to go tomorrow.
Evidently this is not the case.

Well I don't think this means Dubinsky won't play tomorrow, I think they're just being cautious and making sure they have a warm body ready to fill in if needed
Ideally it'd be great if Dubi can play.
I've been calling for Feds to be the one to sit for Wolski.
Will be interesting to see what the lines are if both Dubi and Wolski are in the lineup.
Wolski-Stepan-Gaborik
Dubinksy-Richards-Callahan
Hagelin-Boyle-Prust
Anisimov-Rupp-Mitchell
That's what I would like to see, but it's obvious Torts still doesn't have a whole lot of faith in Wolski...

****.
Not because of Newbury, but because Dubinsky and Fedotenko are obviously hurt bad enough not to play.

Again, I don't think this says that AT ALL.
They're just taking the right precautions.
If Dubi and Feds can not go, they have a player ready to step in...if they didn't call up anybody tonight, then Dubi and Feds wake up tomorrow and can't go, they're left with their pants down and no 12th forward available to dress...

If a body was needed, Woywitka is there.
Team has dressed 7 dmen in a game before.

Hasn't Woywitka been sidelined with a sore foot? I don't believe he has skated in practices recently..

saw this coming, Newbury is scoring a ton of pts in CT and I didnt think they would call up EC while he's on "conditioning"

Lord a line with Rupp, Newbury, Mitchell?

He's got some very respectable stats this season with the Whale; 15 goals, 21 assists for 36 points in 30 games.
Give the guy a shot.

I just never saw much in his game when he came up numerous times. I had an open mind then, and I will make sure I have one now.

even if they hope that dubi can play tomorrow, you still have to call someone up so they are there just in case

I assume EC doesn't count against the active roster size while on a conditioning stint, because otherwise we'd be at 24, right?

Ugh I hate Newbury. Maybe it's just that ugly face of his. Is Zuccarello still hurt? Because I don't understand why he hasn't been called up.

Jay and nay, I like Newbury so glad he gets the chance again, but on the other hand I was hoping he would be buried in AHL so he'd sign in Europe, preferable Frölunda next season.

Why do they refuse to give MZA another shot? He could at least try to help out the craptacular PP of ours.
