It’s one of those things where you definitely want to come out on top and make it a memorable one for Darryl coming back here and facing his old team. (on if Darryl Sutter seemed any different today…) No, not really. If anything, he was a little bit more focused and wanted to win it a little more tonight. I don’t know if you can get more intense than him. The guys liked it. It’s definitely a change from Terry, before, and right now it seems like we’ve been doing pretty well under him."

(on improved Scoring & Power Play…) You kind of get into a funk, with that cloud over your head, where nothing is going in and you’re scratching and clawing for two goals. Now, we’re getting a lot of chances. Our power play is clicking. The PK is there, like it’s always been, and same with our defensive play. I think we’re just really bearing down on our chances. Execution. There aren’t too many fadeaway plays, where you’re on the back of your heels trying to make a pass. It’s very focused. Everybody is in an athletic position. We’re trying to do what the coach tells us, and I think we’re getting a lot of shots through, and screens in front."

It’s not something we’re used to. It’s a struggle. I think we rebounded back after a tough first period. Our power play scored a big goal in the second. It’s really been something that we’ve tried to concentrate on, and we’re getting better at it. That was pretty much the game, at the end of it. (on playing with a lead…) It’s not so much playing with a lead. We’ve just had trouble scoring goals. You score two, three. You talk about that two- or three-goal lead being hard to play with. In this league, you sit back too much and you end up playing in your own zone too much. It’s something we just have to work at. Our goalie was really good in the first period, those first four or five minutes. The Flames have been hot at home, so you knew they were going to come out strong. (on the Kings gaining some momentum of late…) It’s a tough league. I don’t think momentum is something I see. What you try to build is confidence. (on beating his brother Brent…) Non-factor. It’s interesting that you guys keep talking about it. Our concept, and our mindset, is always about the team first. That stuff really doesn’t mean much to me. (on whether the game was emotional for him…) No. We play tomorrow. That was the first thing I said after the game. We play at 6 o’clock tomorrow in Edmonton. That’s our biggest challenge. (on players saying he was more intense than usual…) That’s good. Winning games in the NHL, there has to be some emotion. (on the atmosphere in the building…) It’s no different than what I said this morning. It’s a great building to be in. That’s what it’s about. What more do you want? A kid from Alberta on Hockey Night in Canada in an Alberta building. Pretty awesome, right?"

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

This has the potential to be a let down game. Let's hope the kings don't under estimate their opponent.

Looking for a strong game from JB. He needs to up his trade value.

GO KINGS GO!
GO KINGS GO!!
GO KINGS GO!!!
GO KINGS GO!!!!

LETS GET THIS ONE!

So happy with our play under DS. He has been exactly what we needed. The team has had to battle its way through some heavies this season and is finally starting to play Kings hockey.

I like our chances.

I think that this is one of those "must win" type of games. The Oilers are a team that we should destroy both due to the fact that they aren't yet a very good team AND the fact that they are without two of their star players.

Games like these, the ones that we should win are the ones that have given us the most trouble so a win would be a great indicator of the make up of our team. Not a true must win but one of those should win games that mean more than two points to us.

You haven't missed anything, because there's no way Dean is going to trade a prospect like Slava for a rental. Doesn't matter who the rental is. It's completely antithetical to everything I've come to expect from Dean.

I realize back to backs are the norm, but starting at 8PM the first night and 6PM the 2nd is brutal, particularly when the opposing team had last night off (and a speedy opponent to boot).

Tough, tough game to win tonight.

I can't believe Oilers fans are so convinced that we are tops in the race for Hemsky... Like we are itching to deal high end prospects for a rental. Especially a brittle Hemsky with seriously unknown contract demands. We don't even know if we will make the playoffs. No way Dean deals anything the Oilers desire for him.

P.S. Why do Oilers fans believe that Voynov is one dimensional and is questionable to develop a good defensive game? I think they are the only fans in the NHL I have encountered that thinks so. Wonder where it came from.

Love the possibility that Bernier is starting. This is a much better division of labour and it's good for everybody, Quick gets rest, Bernier gets to play and we get to up Bernier's trade value (or find out he's the one we want to go with). Imagine he ended up better, Quick's trade value must be huge!

Not that I expect that to happen, I think Bernier will be amazing and I can't wait to see him get starter minutes, I don't think he'll be as good as Quick, though. And he definitely won't have as funny an answer to the "Worst date" question.

Would love to see him go to the habs. A talented french Canadian goalie? With the politics up there we could get Crosby-esque returns

(I'm from there, I'm allowed to joke about it )

P.S. Why do Oilers fans believe that Voynov is one dimensional and is questionable to develop a good defensive game? I think they are the only fans in the NHL I have encountered that thinks so. Wonder where it came from.
Because they want him so they'll believe anything that lowers his value without making him a worse fit for their team

Oilers' fans also said Colin Fraser was completely useless and one of the worst players ever. I find it harder and harder to take seriously what the majority of Oilers' fans say.

(I'm from there, I'm allowed to joke about it )
Where did you see confirmation that Bernier is starting?
