One more thing after the Orlov hit, it was awesome seeing Hammer chasing after someone and playing angry. All looking out for the kid. Mentoring. Ward Hendy and Halpern were in the middle of it.
That's 3 guys last night on D giving a damn. Usually its Erskine and no one but he sat out. Our D might be getting tougher to play against. Add in Wideman 2A doing the Green dance another big game.
In last 15 games under Boudreau (since Oct 27) Caps' has only 5 wins and 1 OTL, that's 36.7% of possible points (thats excluding the streak of 7-0-0 at the start)
first off i dont care about technical or not technical. downie holds his own and is dirty when he fights, witness him hitting alzner twice after he was down.
also, where do you get the idea that alzner knows something about it? i saw very little sign of that and if i heard correctly his last fight was in 2007 in junior.
btw...the power play does look good. ov on the point. its just the best place for him. hate it or not.
In Alzner's interview with the Post he talks about how his teammates saw it coming with the uptick in his chippy play against Pit and he talks about not letting Downie get away with running around out there and about himself playing with emotion. Then you see how Shultz is out of the lineup and they're clearly telling him to play more physical and its clear that under Hunter this team is more physical now, plays with more emotion, has each other's backs now and is slowly but surely building the foundation for playoff hockey. Having Green out and wasting salary on a guy like Schultz isn't going to help that so there are some real personnel issue right now but as far as how they're learning to play, I see a real shift in the mentality and guys like Alzner throwing down every once in awhile is a nice contribution to that.
Okay good, seems like you always find something to worry about with this team. I can understand being paranoid based on the past but its the regular season, take a load off.

Americans preference for ice is quite impressive. After a few minutes, that ice with Coke around it is one watered down Coke. Europeans wonder about our obsession with ice I am certain. I think we use ice to cool our presumed high body temps from lugging around our rotund selves. My trips to Europe, I learned frozen beer is overrated.
Euro's don't much drink flat water either. Just what you are used to I guess. I do prefer my beer to be cold on a hot summer day.
