I know he was lucky that he almost always had a good team, but still think that he is one of the best guys to win you the SB

but he only won one in 15yrs even with how consistently good the steelers were.

Also, danieal manning with beast kick return to give what looks like the texans their only points for the game.
Sure coulda used him returning and playing safety this year, he was also one of my favorite bears.

How can you say he isn't doing much? Utilizing talent correctly and making it work is good coaching, and thus doing something.

That's like saying Mike Babcock doesn't do much coaching the Wings after taking over for Dave Lewis. He had the same talent in place and had a 6-10 playoff record in two seasons.

Just because a team is talented, in any sport, doesn't mean it doesn't take proper coaching and knowing how to best put guys in a position for success isn't necessary and worth noting.

I'm not a Harbaugh fanboy but you can't deny he's made a difference there, even if it's just utilizing talent that's already there properly. That, in effect, is doing something.

Just because a team is talented doesn't take away anything from the coach's ability to utilize it correctly. Always found that to be a peeve of mine when you get the "oh well that team is stacked, he doesn't have to do much and is lucky" and thus shouldn't be considered as a coach of the year or as being a good coach. That's crazy to me. Are they fortunate to have tools to work with? Sure. That still doesn't take away anything from their ability to make it all work and manage everything involved.

true.

but he never really had a winning QB before he got Ben. Stewart and Maddox weren't that good IMO. Never was a fan of these 2 guys

Look no further than Alex Smith's development for the impact Harbough has had. He was regarded as a complete bust before the season started and everyone was wondering why they didn't go out and get a qb. 4 months later, he's looking like a great qb and winning a playoff game.

Packers looked bad today. At least 7 dropped passes including a td, a bunch of fumbles, and the giants offense consisted basically of two big plays from horrid tackling and an awful breakdown in pass d at the end of the first half.

We can at least take solace in that fact.

Going to be pulling for a Ravens/49ers Super Bowl.

Yea, howd that #1 defense fair today?

You need both unless one is way above the rest of the league.

EDIT, and its not just the packers d that undid them today, 3 fumbles and a bunch of dropped passes including a TD. The whole team was off today and the scoreboard showed it.

On the flipside, the Zebras gave the Packers two of their TD scores by keeping drives alive. Terrible call on the fumble that should have been one, that lead to 7 points. The second was the roughing the passer on Rodgers (or blow to the head). No way was that a penalty, and they were stopped on that play, but due to the penalty, the drive continued and resulted in a TD.

Packers had plenty of good breaks too, but they were definitely exposed.

Harbaugh is a big reason they are where they are. The team is the best tackling team and the best fundamentally sound team in the league. +32 turnover ratio (including yesterday). He has helped turn Smith into the qb I've always though he could be.

Also, the Bears would not have won the West this year. Especially after Cutler went down.
