We need thoughness on the 4th line not grannies like Darche. We need to change the look of this team.
That'S the thing...
Going forward, Darche should be the 13th forward. Not a 4th liner. Since he won't ask for much... I'd keep him. I mean, it's not like many players will graduate from the Dogs, and the one with the biggest shot (Leblanc) is even more unfit for 4th line duties, let alone playing 30 games in the season.
I'd say : we sign him. He'S a guy that can probably waived, should our 1st pick (if it's a forward) be ready enough for the NHL.
EDIT : We should go BPA, and not Best Forward Available. And I really, really like Jacob Trouba...
People need to re evaluate their analysis of Campoli. He struggled coming back from the leg injury, but after sitting out a few games he's come back playing much better. I think at 1.75 mil he'd be a solid depth addition to a contender or team trying to get into the playoffs. I wouldn't trade him for anything less than a 3rd until deadline day.
This is etchy but I feel there is something to be done.
I would help DAL for a playoff push.
There are a few prospect worth some interest in their depth:
Alex Chiasson (LW)
Scott Glennie (LW - with development issues)
Matt Fraser (RW)
Trade Gill to a contender for a 2nd round pick
Trade Gomez to DAL for Future considerations
IF they make the playoff: Alex Chiasson
IF not: Matt Fraser and a 3rd round pick
IF DAL does not make the playoff:
Trade 2nd round pick (from the Gill trade) + considerations for Niklas Grossman (UFA)
IF we sign him: Send Palushaj as compensation
The end result could be:
To DAL: Gomez, 2nd, Pajushaj
To MTL: Chiasson and Grossman
Trade Campoli for a 2013 draft pick - 3rd or 4th round would be most sufficient
After the season is over:
