Nah...I think the 9ers will run through them.

I dont seem them losing next week. Now if they would win I would like them to play the Ravens and see a reenactment of Super Bowl 35 .

I'm hoping the Eagles make a play for Tyvon Branch in free agency. He's exactly what they need on the back end: an intimidating, hard-hitting safety (also happens to be one of the most sure tacklers in the league) who plays with the type of ferociousness that rubs off on the rest of the defense. In other words, a Brian Dawkins-like presence. Branch has been one of the league's most underrated players (not just safeties) for a few years now, and I actually thought he was arguably the best free safety in all of football last season. I also think his style and personality would mesh very well with this city.

Branch is best suited as an in-the-box safety and plays his best down near the line of scrimmage. Though he's skewered for his coverage abilities, in the Raiders games I've watched I've come away feeling his deficiencies in that area are exaggerated. Is coverage one of Branch's strengths? No, but he's not deplorable at it either.

Also, Joe/Howie/Andy, sign London Fletcher, please.

Shoring up 2 positions that were pretty weak last season would be nice, but you're talking LB and Safety. I can foresee future events transpiring...

(In Best Reid Impression)*Cough*clearsthroat* Okay, uhh. I'm always open to looking to improve my team, so uhh, yeah *ahem* - got any water? - Listen, I'll definitely do my due diligence in that area. It's my job to put the right people in the right position.

months later
Drafts DT, QB, CB, OL, RB
Picks up WR and TE in FA.

The Eagles, on the other hand, have a QB who refuses to protect himself, and a coach that a lot of people seem to think could be gone in a year depending on how next season goes.

Still, disappointing that an actual defensive coordinator won't be coming here. Now I'm really hoping that Jim Washburn doesn't leave, since the D-line was the only really functional piece of that defense. And please, for the love of God, GET A GODDAMNED LINEBACKER WHO CAN PLAY.

I just caught the end of the Ravens game. Wow, what a crappy way to loose for Flacco. Should've had a TD.

I do ( that was brutal), but the score before Ronde returned that ball was 20-10, so even if they get a td there they still need an onside kick. Lee Evans had a trip to the SB in his hands and he couldnt hold on. Then a kicker misses a 32 yard fg?

I don't think the onside kick was necessary. There was still 3 minutes and change to go had they scored. All they needed was a defensive stop and they still had time and the 2 minute warning. I guess you're right on the fact that there were two chances to at least tie the game and they failed on both within seconds of each other.

Maybe I find the Ravens loss to be equally as bad as the Tampa game because of my bias. Heck, I kinda want to lump the loss to the Cards in there as an equally bad performance. That and the Ravens have actually won a SB (during Reid's tenure no less) so it's not like they've been starving.

You know what, the Arizona game hurt the most to me. i didnt expect us to win the other 3 but I was so confident they were going to win that game. If Akers doesnt **** the bed that day...

I blame the defense more for that game. I know if Akers makes his PAT and a 47 yarder it could change the game a bit, but going just by the numbers even if he makes them they still would've lost by 3. Defense put the team in one heck of a hole after the first half, and to the team's credit they dug themselves out and had the lead. And then the defense went away again for that last Arizona TD, and Don did what Don does for the most part when he's got the ball late and his team is trailing.

Niners didnt deserve to win this game honestly. There offense is so bad, and I know Alex Smith is the latest feel good story of the week but if the 49ers want to go to next level they need to replace him asap.

I dunno. I thought their defense deserved the W. They played about as well on offense as I expected against the Giants defense though.

Kyle Williams 2 blunders on special teams ended up costing them 10 points including the game winning FG. If not for those two plays, who knows?

Wait you mean they don't have a competent coach? This dream team was just 1 win away from the playoffs themselves, and with that 1 win it's the Eagles in the SB instead of the Giants, right?!!

The now last 5 NFC Champions beat the Bills during the season.

Had the Eagles beaten the Bills, they would be in the playoffs and the Giants wouldn't have made it.

It's amazing how the butterfly effect works in the NFL.
