It's weird man. A lot of people held their tongues this whole time. LA fans said something of his attitude as well when the Habs signed him, but I didn't think it would be that bad.

Mike is developing quite the reputation.

Yeah he did come out flying in the third. But he could explain it to him 100 times if he wants to, if he can't handle first line matchups on a consistant basis and he puts him back there it won't actually change anything. I don't even mind if he gets them from time to time to get the experience but if you notice him getting pasted during a game, lower his competition. Not every 22 year old can be Subban and handle first line matchups every night (and even he still has some growing pains). Plekanec can handle the matchups, that's one of his main job on the team.

People who think Gomez is laughing because he's banking it big are either a) naive(young), b) have never played hockey, c) are incapable of understanding that not every one acts\reacts in the same way(ie: extremes from anger to jovially shrugging negatives away)

Pierre McGuire had a good point. If you're not scoring goals then you need to find other ways to contribute. Rene Bourque can do that he said, but Mike Cammalleri can't really. I would put Gomez in Bourque's category, too. He played very well. Skated well, looked confident, carried the puck nicely. Doesn't care who he's playing with, just doing his thing out there and though it;s just one game... he was a big part of the win tonight. Had a really effective game. Never gonna shut up the haters, but hey, whatever. I don't like whining about how much money someone gets paid, nothing comes of that... just have to remember that a lot more good can come from looking at his game and mentioning the positive things he does, than bashing him all night...

Good game Gomez.

Eller wouldn't have played a single minute had it not been for Moen and Plekanec leaving the game...

No reason to be happy that Cunneyworth inserted him back into the line up, he had no choice. As much as I don't give a crap about the language our coach speaks, I don't want to see Cunneyworth hold his job going into next season. Really no different than Martin.

Who would have thought watching Gomez centering Darche and Blunden would be exciting to watch!

Definitely bizarro world.

Gomez is a good guy, I definitely wish him luck in turning his career around... It would certainly be beneficial to us either to keep him or his value for us to unload him.

Says who? Did Cunneyworth said that?

If not, while what you said is a possibility.. but it could simply be a coincidence.

Just got back from the Bell Centre... it was probably the Habs' best game this season... or at least close. Everyone looked pretty good, Pacioretty looked AMAZING. Gomez looked GOOD. Budaj looked like a fantastic backup goalie, possibly an A goalie if Carey Price wasn't there, Bourque looks great already, Cole was awesome as usual, Desharnais was great... really good game.

Gomez had a good game, it should be said. Hopefully Pleks pulls his head out of his ass and produces with Bourque. Eller too, they dominate the zone but can't finish squat.

The highest paid most content to be there 4th liner in the game. The talent level is also less from the opposition, maybe this is the best place for Gomez, leave him there Randy.

I still don't get why anyone hates on Budaj, he's looked solid every time the team in front of him hasn't imploded. He should play more.

I want to make a couple comments on Gomez. Seeing him play tonight really made me feel good about this team. Did anyone have notice that sense of hostility on this team this year, that uneasiness, that unhappiness?

Gomez is probably the nicest and most easy-going guy on the team. You can always catch him encouraging guys and making them smile while on the bench or even in the penalty box. I LOVE players like this; they help bring character, confidence and cooperation to a team.

You got the feeling guys were enjoying themselves more and Gomez brought an aspect to the game we haven't seen much this season.

Also, he played awesome. When he was handling the puck he looked like a beast. He made slick passes all game, and orchestrated a beautiful play for Blunden's goal. If he looked that good on a line with Blunden and Darche, imagine how good he could look with Cole and Pacioretty?

He looked like a top-six player tonight, and if he keeps this up, I wouldn't mind him taking some of Plekanec or Eller's minutes more and more often. It was really encouraging to see Scotty's old self all over the ice again tonight.

It seems like he's an awesome team guy too, I loved when he and PK did the triple low five after the game.

Martin would bench them and then swallow the key. Cunneyworth is more lax and lets them out much earlier.

We all know he's just trolling and making Price jealous so Price is motivated to start playing better.

Bull. Martin would recognize that Eller is overmatched, send Plekanec or Gomez to handle the toughs, and hand Eller easier minutes.
