So I think speculation like this is fun, and even though the big tournament isn't until 2014, it's interesting to talk about.
Similar to Heatley-Thornton-Marleau, do you think this line will all make it and be kept together?
I think they will, and I also think the 3 of them will make up one of the PP units. They've been effective and lead Canadians in PPP even on a bad team with no point shot. Obviously, the kids still need to develop. However, I think in a big tournament where line mates dont know each other really well, their effectiveness as a unit will be agumented because of the chemistry they'll have developed by being on the same team. Individually they all have merits too. Eberle is Mr. Clutch, Hall was the MVP for the Mem cup twice, and RNH is one of the best set up men in the league.
Maybe our expectations are too high, but this is a positive thread among all the doom and gloom on the front page.
I think so, in the next 2 years I think they'll establish themselves as mainstays in the top20 NHL scoring leaders, I don't see how you can keep a dominant force like that off of the Canadian roster
if they go to the WC this yr and do well then they should at least get a look, still they will be on the younger side of things in 2014 compared to others who have been taken

Yeah let's see them have success at the WC level before we go and expect this for 2014.
Right now I'd only include Eberle in a potential CAN team for the Olympics. But 2 years is a long time and RNH and Hall have everything going for them (except a loosing team........).
There's a decent amount of the players on the Oilers who should be in the WC.
Smid, Gilbert, Whitney if healthy, Hall, Eberle, RNH, Petry maybe.
Even if Whitney is in the line up at the end of the season, I don't think he should go. He's our only true #1 dman and he has played way too few games in an Oilers uniform this far. Guy needs to heal up and play a complete season for once.
I've dreamed about this quite a bit. It seems like a perfect fit, and they've all shown chemistry, as young as their careers are. While I think they would be great on the big stage, I question whether Hockey Canada would actually pull the trigger. In the past they've gone with experience over youth almost every time. I think it's a great idea, but they'll have to really show something special as a line to make it happen.
