Confidence/Negativity

Once you start to slump, you lose your confidence and you start trying different things, hoping something will work.... which can actually make things worse. In turn they start thinking negatively and might not try as hard "team has no pulse"

When you think negatively bad things always seem to happen. In the Sabres case (Injuries, bad bounces, hitting the post)

Call me crazy but I think once Ennis, Sekera and Ehrhoff come back the Sabres will be a great team, that is if they can find their confidence again. Even the greatest of players in sports will look like trash with no confidence.

Earlier in the year other teams thought we were gonna be a top contender and we were actually winning. Seems like everything went downhill with injuries and Miller being run over.

Id hate to turn this into another anti Ruff thread, but shouldn't a 14 year coach be responsible for getting them on track?

Is it too hard to think that maybe if they would shoot the puck and crash the net on a regular basis, maybe they'd be scoring more than 1-2 goals a game regularly?

Anyone who has played sports, like myself should know that when you're in a big slump some guy yelling at you or offering words of encouragement isn't really going to help. It's up to you to dig your way out.

Like the Ellis line 2 games ago. They get 2 garbage goals and all of a sudden they are buzzing around the next game too.

Gerbe and Roy crashed the net and it resulted in a goal last game. So you're right there. I think the reason our players don't do it more often is because of Ruff's two way forward scheme. We see one forward fumble the puck in the offensive zone and next thing you know our whole teams at center ice. I think most of us would like him gone at this point but we don't need another fire Ruff thread.

As for Gragnani, he's been awful this year we all know that. Weber has been just as bad (yet another playing in a slump) even though I thought they were both pretty good last year.

The turnovers this year have cost us a lot of games. I've noticed when Grags passes the puck he rarely elevates it and Staffords backhand is about the weakest thing on the planet.

I'm quite confident in my negativity.
