I'd rather send Park than Adams...

PA wouldn't be bad...but I have a hard time placing him if Sid doesn't come back...

Semin for Washington. His massive salary can be easily handled and he is a UFA

Parenteau has improved a lot from last year. He's still flawed, but he's a good playmaker. Good on the PP because of the extra time and space. He's been playing with Tavares for the majority of his time on Long Island so he's not as good as his stats look, but he can play. He is a whipping boy of Isles fans because he is not a 1st line player, but we don't really complain about him now that he's off that line.

As a pure rental, I would think he could help the Pens. With all the injuries for the Pens, Parenteau can definitely help keep the ship afloat until certain players get healthy - wishing you a speedy and full recovery Sid!

A deal centring around Raymond and Niskanen sounds promising. Seems fans from both sides like it. Nismanen is shoots right and thats good for Van. Raymond has great speed, Van probably doesn't like the idea of giving that up. Niskanen has regressed a little the last couple of years therefore bringing down his value, but is having a relatively good season this year. Raymond is 26, Niskanen is 25 and both are rfa at end of season. Raymond right now is the slightly better player in the deal I think, but Niskanen has potential, so they are both close.

Needs of both teams nicely complimented, Van has to pay to get D-man right handed with potential, Pitt gets top 6 forward with potential they need due to injuries. Biggest difference I see is that Raymond has quite a bit more playoff experience.

Quite honestly...I literally think he is the last player Shero would target...

Just idle speculation from Garrioch.
Thanks.

And speculation is fine. The Penguins are in an odd predicament right now, will be interesting to see what they do.

This is worth a post on ESPN's website? They're after a rental winger every year now. So what? hahaha

That being said, Hemsky and Malkin is something I have wanted to see for awhile.
I'd dislike parting with Hemsky but I'd like him to succeed. He's been a trooper for the Oilers for years.

Hemsky for Crosby

I'd love to target a ton of players on the Pens roster but we'd likely have to add a ton of pieces that we can't afford.

I'd also rather keep Hemsky. He has been productive this season whenever he's not handcuffed by Horcoff or Smyth (decent players but their style doesn't work with Hemsky for whatever reason).

He'd tear it up with Malkin or Crosby.

Parenteau, Raymond or Kostitsyn all sound like players Shero might target. Ruutu as well most likely. Not sure who I'd like the most out of those four on the Pens. Ruutu probably fits into DB's system the most but I wouldn't be opposed to the other 3.

I think the Isles and Pens could make for good trade partners. The Guerin deal seemed to work out a few years ago. PA is pretty underrated among Isles fans. He takes a lot of heat but the guy produces. Sure, playing with Tavares helps a lot, but IMO that is a good thing. It shows that the guy can compliment if playing wing to a star player. If put with Malkin, Crosby or even Staal, he should put up some solid points.

I'd expect a 2nd rounder or a defensive prospect in that range for PAP.

Note: I think the most interesting thing that could come out of trading PAP would be seeing who the Isles choose to replace him. I'd expect either Ullstrom or Rakhshani to take his place and get a pretty solid opportunity to prove themselves to the coaching staff. I really like both players, but I think Rhett could be a diamond in the rough. Love the kid's heart and fiestiness.

I remember I made a proposal probably 1 1/2 weeks ago here proposing

Raymond + Weise + Oreskovich
for
Niskanen + Adams + Asham and neither side seemed overly opposed.

I think Niskanen could be a very good future partner for Edler. I know Pens fans won't like the idea of losing Adams and Asham, but they get some young bottom 6 guys with decent upside.

Love Raymond (especially the speed he brings) but I would love for GMMG to stabilize our D with Niskanen.

Well Shero has accumulated a few of those over the years so that wouldn't be a problem Despres, Morrow or Harrington are off-limits though.

Any interest in Prospal? Columbus would want a pick in return most likely.

Or Hemsky and Staal. I think Staal would do wonders with a quality setup guy.

Raymond for Niskanen seems pretty close in value and meet the needs for both teams. I can definitely see something like Raymond for Niskanen + mid/late pick. However, I would want to see Raymond traded as a package along with some other roster player and pick to bring someone who is more defensively sound than Niskanen.

Honestly never even considered the first two as options for PAP. I'd probably just go for the 2nd rounder.
